If you mean the Ireland team of around 2002 then I'd say them for certain, but this Welsh team might just shade any recent Irish one.

Ireland, they overall had a much better team and they actually did achieve things like getting to the last 16 of the World Cup which this Wales team haven't done as of yet.

I hope you meant Roman Eremenko. Alexei is not good enough for Finland's national team and he's been out for quite a while now.

His brother Roman meanwhile is be good enough to start for almost any national team in the world.

Wales have one world class player maybe two with Ramsey but Bale is class above Ramsey. The rest of the team is pretty poor compared to nations like Spain,Germany and even England. There is not that much difference between Scotland and Eire and Wales only Bale gives Wales the slight edge.

Why do we say that Wales has produced a player like Bale? Or ask what their youth infrastructure is like? It was Southampton that found Bale at aged 9 or something and he was training at their youth base at Bristol from that age before signing full time at 16. So Saints produced him imo and Spurs and Rednapp turned him into the midfielder/striker that he is.

wales are still * they are lucky in the sense that they have a easy group and that Belgium seem to be going through a rough patch.

wales are doing extremely well just now. but to rate a team that haven't qualified for a tournament since 1958 10th in the world. not a chance at all

I'm pleased for Wales but I believe it's all a bit flash in the pan stuff.
