McFadden to celtic???

CELTIC were last night linked with a move for Everton midfielder James McFadden.

Reports in Scotland suggest new Parkhead manager Gordon Strachan will make an enquiry about the 22-year-old, who switched to Goodison from Motherwell for £1.25million in September 2003.

Everton manager David Moyes arrived in Austria with his squad for pre-season training camp last night and was unavailable for comment.

But a transfer back north of the border could appeal to McFadden, who has struggled to make a sustained impact during his time on Merseyside.

The Scot has made only 28 starts and the same number of substitute appearances over the last two seasons, scoring just three goals.

Well said Bhoywunda. The wee * is holding everyone to Ransom and scuppering our chance of signing others. The board are trying to get him to appease the fans but there will be worse to listen to if we miss out on Zurawski, Hartley and a quality keeper and defender. As for Mc Fadden i would give him a lash so long as he is a free or bargain!

McFadden is a * impostor, we don't need a wee ned who doesn't understand that a football team has ten other guys which you're allowed to pass the ball to.

He's an alright player but do we really need him??

 

Exactly, if McGeady was playing for a EPL team everyone would be raving about him. I think he has the potential to be World class, Skill, pace and work rate imo. I don't think signing McFadden would be the end of the world, but if it cost us developing this kind of potential i would be against it.

McFadden was Everton's young player of the year and would cost a few bob to buy now. The is absolutely no chance he will come here in the near future.

 

I'm a big fan of McGeady aswell. He has all the attrubites to be a great player, altho he still has alot to learn, wheter it be playing the right passes and when to realese the ball.

 

No great achievement getting young player of the year this season because the other few nominees were all about 17/18 and had played about 100mins combined. He improved this year and scored a few cracking goals but is still not up to the standard required to be a regular in England imo, not for a side that is pushing for UEFA anyway. He's still got the potential to improve further though.

He's stalling on a contract at the minute because he wants more money but he will likely stay as back up to Beattie and whoever we buy in the summer (probably AJ). I think he has got a year left on his contract so I doubt he would cost too much if someone came in for him and we wanted to sell.

 

We are looking for 2 quality players for every position and we will need them if our injury track record is anything to go by. We hopefully will have a lot of tough games coming up next year in the Champions League!

 

I think McFadden is a good player but dont think he will be worth what everton will want - could b our super sub lol
