Celtic XI 2010-2015

On performances for Celtic from 2010-2015, there's no way that Boruc, Ki or McGeady should be anywhere near a Celtic XI.

Don't want to turn this into brown discussion but this is the first season where hes performances haven't been over rated.

 

How people are picking bitton over Brown I don't know- it borders on outrageous. Bitton could go on to be fantastic but 3/4 of a good season doesn't mean hes better than Brown has been- anyway for what its worth:

Our team was like a bunch of headless chickens at the start of the season in his absence. I admit the team were still trying to get used to Ronny's tactics etc. but I don't think it's a coincidence that performances, results and consistency began to pick up upon his return to the team.

So I disagree he's been overrated.

 

And Ki wasn't even a starter when he left...

 

ki is a better footballer thats all I am saying.

All at their peak at their time at Celtic this would be my team.

I think Forster is a better keeper than Gordon is, not much in it though.
Hinkel at his prime was unreal. One of the best right backs in the UK.
van Dijk is obvious but when he won POTY was unreal.
Very tough choice at LB. Mulgrew & Izzy both won POTY, but Izaguirre won his at LB, Mulgrew at CB.
Brown & Wanyama are obvious.
Commons & McGeady at their best are obvious choices, hard to fit in Ledley but had to be in their someone.
Keane is the best forward I have seen at Celtic bar Larsson, Sutton & Hartson. Probably on a par with the latter two.

 

Ki has been a standout in England with Swansea. A very good football player.

He just wasn't cut out for the hustle and bustle of the Scottish game. I feared the same of Bitton at the start. Like Ki, a real classy player but physicality wasn't apart of his game.

Thankfully Bitton has stepped up to the mark and "grew a pair" and now is one of the success stories of the season and one of the first names on the team sheet.

A better player than Ki.

 

Wanyama is better than Bitton and you can't pick Bitton over Brown just yet. Bitton has been very good for 5/6 months after being here for a couple of years of not much.

Hooper and Forster are unlucky not to feature. Kayal of Lennons first and second season was immense as well up until his injury.

 

What are we doing here?

A Celtic XI based on performances in a Celtic jersey from 2010 to 2015 or a Celtic XI based on performances at their peak of players who happened to be on Celtic's books between 2010 and 2015?

 

I was assuming the later.

After doing my team I had a look through the thread, can't believe how little Ledley features in everyone's teams. I know we've had some really good centre mids and we've been spoilt for choice there but Ledley would probably be first name on the team sheet for me. Criminally under rated I feel. Him not being there is the reason Izaguirre gets exposed so much nowadays.

 

The latter I assume. With a bit of the former.

I picked Bitton over Brown because I think he's a better player and would be immense beside Wanyama even though Brown has clearly done far more for Celtic, aa has Ledley

On the other hand I went for Hooper over Keane because of how good Hooper was for us.
