I see white bread getting a few mentions. I thought recently I'd try and be a bit healthier so I gave up white bread and started buying Kingsmill Wholemeal bread instead. Well * me, I looked at the wholemeal bread the other day and compared it to a white loaf that was already in the house. It has more sugar, more fat and more salt in it than the white loaf has! I was not impressed.

I eat wholemeal bread for the fibre content, and dont really care about the sugar to be honest.
I eat far too much sugar, but i also try and eat relatively healthy, sugar apart.

I dont eat fatty meat and rarely have a pizza of McD or chippy.

You cant get too * about it;you need to have a quality of life and i enjoy my diet.Curries, pasta, eggsetc, but i try and eat veg when i can.

I take a sweetener and honey in my tea/coffee.

I eat Warburtons like the loaf featured, but have rolls maybe 3 times a fortnight.

I pretty much have zero sugar in my diet.

For about 6 months now I have been following a cyclical ketogenic diet that my daily macronutrient breakdown is 65% of my calories come from fat 30% protein and 5% carbs.

It pretty much equates to less than 50g of carbs a day (a slice and a half of bread in reality)

Yes in the first couple of weeks you get a slight headache as your sugar addiction leaves you nut after that you will feel 100x better.

I will post more about it when I'm on my computer but aye get sugar to * it's the worst things going.

Although I will say if you are still eating brown bread etc you won't experience "the flu"

Granted, you will still feel like * because a substance that your body is addicted to is greatly reduced.

I tried this a few months back. Felt like I was going to collapse at work. I'd feel shaky as * half way through my working day but a red bull or a Snickers/mars bar done the trick.
Tried substituting the sweets for a banana but I still felt like I was needing sugar to keep me going.

I walk about 8 miles or so a day with my work so I'll need to find a healthier alternative to red bull or lucozade.

Outside of work I've found it a bit easier to cut it out.

Stopped eating sugar (fizzy juice, sweets, chocolate, fruit, fruit juice etc) and pretty much all carbs after Christmas and have lost almost a stone in weight that I didn't realise I needed to lose!

Had the flu type symptoms for a week or so but have never felt as healthy as I do just now. Called the Hardcombe diet I believe.

I'm trying to eat a lot healthier, it was after watching a Netflix doc, can't remember it's name maybe Food Inc or something? It was frightening.

Anyway, I still love a morning coffee, I used to take 2 full tea spoons of sugar, now I take none and as you said, after around a week or so I preferred none. I honestly struggle to drink it with sugar now it tastes far too sweet.

I gave up Sugar in tea years ago. I switched to sweeteners then I got suspicious about them and stopped them too. I remember reading that the body treats sugar like an enemy as it causes alsorts of inflammation that we're not aware of and is linked to ill health.

When they brought out low fat foods telling us that it was the fat that was responsible for our ills they later discovered that our ills weren't going away and it was in fact the Sugar that was the problem.

Wish I could give up biscuits and chocolate!

It's all about having a balanced diet. If all you eat is processed carbs and fizzy juice then yes you will feel * all the time.

Conversely, we live in a World that has embraced processed * and from a social stand point if all you eat is earth grown nutrients and all you drink is spring water then you'll also be a miserable *.

Said on here a while ago the latest fad would be completely cutting out sugar :56: maple syrup and honey producers will be rubbing their hands.

Mate, chocolate is so easy to make it's unreal.

    Cocoa powder.
    Coconut oil.
    Stevia (healthy sweetner substitute).
Salt (healthier the salt the better. I used Himalayan or black dead sea salt).

That's your base right there. Then you can add whatever you want. Nuts, fruit, chili powder, whatever.

Requires no cooking other than melting the oil.

Healthy chocolate and a clear conscience as no animals were abused in the farming of milk.

Counting carbs and things that promote rapid water weight loss short term are no good for you either.

If you really want to be Mr Super Healthy stick to a paleo diet or equivalent where all you eat, at all, is * that is naturally produced from the Earth.

Lots of studies coming out showing a plant based vegan diet is the best all round diet. Less likely to get ill, quicker recovery from illness or injury, way less likely to form cancer or heart disease, no need for energy supplements and so on.

I was on a Keto diet for months. I've also tried 'The Dolce Diet', Atkins and every other fad diet that has existed the past decade. I understand their benefits and also their pitfalls.

The reality is, no one ever sticks completely to these things and neither they should. Denying yourself a donut or a pint of lager because it's supposed to be 'bad' for you is stupid.
