We are at the start of an exciting journey. We kept the ball for long periods of that game, even with 10men.

More confident about Europe next season.:shamrock:

Not saying I'm not optimistic for the future the progress is there for all to see but its always the same so near yet so far always a daft early goal or red card you could script it now

Guarin elbowed Johannson as he went past him and shouldn't have been on the pitch to score .

You would never have realised that the wee plukey team from Glasgow was a man down tonight.

We * kept going at them and going at them and I'm so proud of each and every one of them.

As you are usually angry , are u not a little annoyed at Virgil , the first yellow card , he went into challenge rather carelessly and the Italian footballer bought the yellow card . In the second instance., Virgil allowed his man inside him and very clumsily tried to interfere , the Italian made a yellow card appeal and the ref gave it . Virgil was foolish to allow the referee to punish .

Missed the majority of tonight's game so can't really comment. However I agree with the OP in being proud of this team over the last 2 games. Going on last week and how we've played over the last few months, massive improvement. Going by the start to the season, could anyone see we would be able to compete and match a side like Inter(some might think they aren't that good, but they have some facets of the game we don't)

This team has had to transform its style of previous years within a short space time, whilst also maintaing a results standard. We've come up short against a good Inter side, with a young side. This team has the potential to develop to a higher level than we compete at presently.

Of course I wanted to progress. However beyond that target, I was hoping to see us compete with Inter over the 2 legs. Not only did we compete, we played some really good attacking football against them. Our ball retention and our general play over the last two games has been the best showing in Europe for sometime. Plenty to be positive about, if you look beyond the score line.

Do you think he should have done a Boughera and put the yellow back in the refs pocket

    Nonsense.

You can't blame the payer for making a fair challenge and the ref misjudging it. Fair enough if he had went in after play had stopped (like Johansen squaring up to that guy, fortunately nothing came of it) but you can't be blamed for making a fair challenge just because the ref has seen it wrong.

But the first challenge he tackled from behind and on the second he pulled the guy back, which one was a fair challenge...in Europe?

The same rule book applies wherever the game is played.

I only saw the last 10 minutes or so (and Virgil's two yellows) due to work. Should I watch this when it becomes available or will it be painful viewing?

I enjoyed the game itself. The ref was frustrating though.
