Coz 6 of the team is South African its hard to relate to a team who ignore there own talent and just steal it from elsewhere

So you don't support England because you don't relate to them, but instead support a country eleven and a half thousand miles away? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense but each to their own!

Oh and I don't know where you get your information from, but 6 of the team are not South African.

Once again your cricket knowledge seems to be quite limited.

Ireland are a long way from attaining test status. That's just the way things are.

What is more concerning though (and wrong as far as I'm concerned) is the likelihood that, as a result of the ICC restructuring the next world cup, Ireland might not even be playing in that.

Sorry Geoffrey Boycott consider me told :87: maybe the fact England's best player KP was sacked because a few grown men couldn't handle him and gobshites like Gary Ballance and Stuart Broad get games as KP and Stokes sit at home

The question of Ireland getting Test status... idk. Success in 20/20 & even ODI is a very different nviroment from that of Tests. Although this alone s not the sole guiding principal and gaining that status would certainly only see a strengthening of the development game there.

More immediately, Australia put on a very impresive 376 with Maxwell leading the charge with a 51 ball century! But the Sri Lankans putting up an impressive effort in the chase. Early days, but well balanced at this stage of the game.

Can see this being close. If these two batsmen stay together to about 200 its going to be tight

    Wow. Just wow.

The correct answer is of course, Bradman.

With all due respect to all those that have come since, none have come close to emulating what he did. And on uncovered wickets and conditions that were not weighed so heavily in favour of batsmen.

Looks like Australia has this game well under control the now.

ODI cricket is far different to test cricket but ODI is all we have to judge Ireland on. You can't sit there watching Ireland taking a big scalp at every tournament and not allow them to become a test side. In my opinion we are a better one day team than Zimbabwe and I'd always fancy us to beat Bangladesh. We are also by far and away the best Associate member.

Ireland will never improve when our best players (Eoin Morgan, Boyd Rankin and Ed Joyce) in recent years are just poached by England. If Ireland still had Rankin and Morgan we'd be a different animal imo and a fast more dangerous side. We have to be given full membership or this sport is simply a farce.

Bradman would be interesting to see how he faced today's bowlers, Sangakarra is a class act always has been
