He's a completely different player now from when he left anyway, which normally will happen with wingers. He has a better weight of pass and is more composed when choosing options.

I wouldn't read too much into the Everton fans being 50/50 on him, they've had some recent good finishes and suddenly think they're world beaters. They were turning on Coleman and Baines last year FFS.

Aye and he was playing regularly in a 4231 in Moscow. In any of the positions behind the striker.

I'd be very happy with this:

    Bitton Brown

    GMS Johansen McGeady

Could leave us with a back up of:

    Henderson Mulgrew

    Forrest Commons Armstrong

Although I suspect Commons would end up first choice infront of both GMS and Forrest in that situation.

Forrest doesn't go to the byline as much as he should now a days. It's one of the reasons his game has regressed over the last few years along with injuries of course.

He showed glimpses of it in the second half of last season. But mind when he first broke in the team he would constantly take players on, he was so direct a loved that about him, no * about, no tricks just pace to get by and get the cross/shot in. Could be a confidence thing now.

Probably more him being scared of injuries. Seen him so many times pull up when he try's to burst forward. It's a shame his legs can't handle his speed

Boerrigter out, McGeady in - everyone's happy right. Most important thing is he comes in realizing he needs to earn a place in the side.

I just think there are other "showboaters" out there. They maybe have knocked us back and we go down the list, second choice. Third choice is probably Aiden McGeady on a cheeky as * loan deal.

The good thing is, we know what we're getting and would fit into the side in days rather than weeks/months like some flops we've had. At least McGeady knows the drill.

So it's a fairly safe bet, although it has been quite funny watch him be * from time to time since he left.

Every move he's made has been about the money. I don't think he'd take a pay cut when he's sat on a four year deal. But maybe a loan.

This post is 100% the polar opposite of the truth. The very thing we need is someone to do a different job out wide than just taking a guy on. The ability to slow it down and mix it up can be priceless in Europe. GMS can do it, to an extent, but McGeady's excellent at it.

You come across as tactically clueless here.

Forrest doesn't go to the byline and 'whip it in' either.

That's an absolute myth. Lost count of the amount of times I've been sitting at CP when he is down beside the north stand and he is getting pelters by every * around me for not taking his man on:56:

This was one thing I wished we got to see more often when Strachan played McGeady. Nakamura on the right and McGeady on the left. I would have loved to have seen them on their natural sides more often. However, Strachan believes in wingers cutting inside to hit crosses as they can be a lot harder to defend.

He carried the team for a while during Strachan's 3IAR season.

Aye, he did. Was that not his Player of the Year/Young Player of the Year season?
