    Lord of the Rings Trilogy and books based on the subject are classified by some as a science fiction therefore it is hands down the best ever written.

    all the 5 books are great, Adams is a genius for me. smart and funny, I would recommend this book for anyone

    The Hitchikers series is a good call. I like the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov as well. But my top spot would go to Greg Bears Eon and Eternity books.

    Not allowed, lotr falls within the genre of Science Fantasy, Sci Fi is aliens and humans in spaceships and planets and stuff.:rolleyes:
