Aye Tommy Gemmell came out and said they were the easiest games he's played in Europe for Celtic.

Perhaps they were getting too big headed..... Didn't think Jock would have let them do that.

Loved watching the video of this game there.

Slightly off topic but also found this one on youtube, there are loads of old games on there.

Love near the start of this one the presenter makes a comment about how exhilarating and fantastic Scottish football can be. Wish I could have been around during some of the glory days. Paul McStay only 18 here..

My father was at the Leeds game and he always swore it was over 150,000 there that night. Officially it was still the biggest attendance for a European game but it should have gone down as much larger that the crowd that saw Scotland v England all those yaers before.

Jock Stein said to the buoys before the game: "Revie's * himself, I've never seen that man as nervous in all my life. He's as white as a sheet. If he's like that, what do you think his players are like? They are there for the taking, believe you me."

Jock also told John Hughes who was in for the injured Willie Wallace that he knew he was choked about missing the Lisbon final but if you play well tonight you will definitely play in the final. Hughes was said to have played a blinder that night.

The English press did think Leeds would win through. They were on for a treble in their eyes. The were in the FA Cup final and going head to head with Everton for the title. I think the only player they had out was Paul Reaney and Revie had told Norman Hunter to do a hatchet job on Jinky.

Lots of Celtic fans went down to Leeds to try to get some of theoir tikcets too because they only sold 4k of their 10k allocation. There was also the big queues at our reserve game to snap the rest up.

It was the most one sided support EUROPE will EVER see for agame.

Better than I thought, even for a semi in Europe..

Don't think England brought much more than that in the 70's for internationals..

How many did we take in the first leg?
