It's the other way around actually. He IS a centreback, but can play on the left - resulting in no offensive output though.

    I disagree very much.

Guarin has a good game for every 5 horrendous one. Hernanes hasn't quite got into a groove. Medel is good, but nothing special. I live Kovacic so much, and i shudder at the thought of him leaving (as he has the potential to be one of the best in the world), but he as well is a bit up and down.
The reserves are where it gets worse - Kuzmanovic, Khrin and Obi aren't really anything to write home about.

You're probably right in saying, that if the whole midfield plays to potential, you'll be in trouble, but there is nothing that points to that happening.

Speaking of the midfield, M'Vila is getting his contract terminated. Rumors of us looking into Mario Suarez from Atletico, which I have mixed feelings about. Especially for the rumored price of 15 mil. euro. He's a good player, but not one who we absolutely need or will raise the bar very much. And especially an unnecessary buy for a club in as much financial trouble as ours.

So you won't have to face M'Vila or Osvaldo, who's also on his way out.

Forgot to mention; with the above two leaving, that paves the way for us to register both Shaqiri and Podolski. If I didn't totally misread the rules.

Inter(4-2-3-1) Handanovic; Campagnaro, Ranocchia, Vidic, D’Ambrosio; Guarin, Medel; Hernanes, Palacio, Podolski; Icardi

Ranocchia comes back after a suspension and jumps right back into the starting eleven. Kovacic however, does not.
Shaqiri expected to get his debut today.

That central pairing at the back is just begging to have a striker with pace to run at them. It'll get exactly that with Pucciarelli, the Empoli #20. This could be a problem against Celtic as well, with any constellation of Vidic/Ranocchia/Andreolli playing - only Juan is not your typical, tall, towering central defender, but can actually catch up with most players.
I don't know if Guidetti's that pacey type, but you could definitely look to exploit that, should we line up like we're doing today. Campagnaro at left back isn't exactly Usain Bolt either.

Griffiths is probably the quickest but he won't play.
