    Carrying on from the hated ex players thread. Who are your favourite ex Celtic players? Especially ones that are fairly obscure, or not so obvious. A few of mine would be Barry Robson, Paul Hartley, Andreas Hinkel and Mark Wilson. :50:

    I liked Andy Hinkel, thought he was a very reliable player. Shame about the injuries otherwise I'd have liked him to still possibly be here.

    Paul Hartley and Robson, two players I hated when playing against us but without them we wouldn't have won 3 in a row that year. Loved them here and their careers were cut a season or so short IMO, could still have done a job here. Especially when you consider some of the dross they were replaced with.

    Marc Crosas. I actually think he had potential but just not built for Scotland at all. Now a diehard tim and a great guy.

    Obvious: Henrik Larsson, Artur Boruc, Lubo Moravcik, Neil Lennon, Stilian Petrov, Jan Venegoor of Hesselink.

    Not so obvious: Jackie MacNamara, Tommy Johnson, Bobo Balde, Barry Robson, Mark Wilson, Beram Kayal(first season) and Joe Ledley.

    A couple of you beat me to Andy Thom. Remember sitting next to the dugout at CP and being astounded by his pace.

    Headcase Enrico Anoni was a bit of a cult figure, and for some reason I liked Simon Donnelly in the Burns' team.

    Current I like Lustig, Van Dijk, Izaguirre, Forrest and Stokes.

    Not accepting Petrov, Sutton, Hooper, Wanyama, McGeady or Boruc in the obscure criteria.

    In saying that, he never asked for obscurity.


    I could name hundreds in that case.

    But I think he means you're favourites, so whoever they were.

    Like Larsson and Lubo were never favourite players of mine. O'Neill's team my favourites were always Balde, Varga, Petrov and Sutton also Liam Miller but he barely played really. Strachan's/Mowbray's it was Boruc, M.Wilson, Hinkel, McGeady, Petrov and Maloney. Lennon's K.Wilson, Ki, Ledley, Wanyama and Hooper.

    Favourites as a wean were Di Canio and Thom.

    You like all good players really but you have you're favourites.

    My favourite XI would be.

    Hinkel Balde Varga M.Wilson
    McGeady Petrov Ledley Maloney
    Sutton Hooper​
