I'm calling bullshit on this one. Why on earth would we sign another striker? I think I remember ronnie saying that he was not looking to strengthen the forward line anyway. Hopefully this is red herring and we are going for some unknown targets, which is usually the case.

Ex-Hibs’ striker Eoin Doyle to Celtic

Reports this morning confirmed that Celtic have agreed a £1.5million fee for former Hibs’ striker Eoin Doyle after watching him score in Chesterfield’s 2-2 FA Cup draw at Scunthorpe on Tuesday.

The Irishman who was Pat Fenlon’s first signing from Sligo Rovers has scored an impressive 22 goals this season and in addition to Celtic, a number of other clubs including Derby County, Cardiff City, Sheffield United and Rotherham are also thought to be interested.

Doyle scored 11 goals in 49 games at Easter Road including a vital goal against Falkirk in the semi final of the Scottish Cup which helped Fenlon’s side reach the final where they lost to Celtic.

Despite being offered a new contract at Easter Road, Doyle decided to join his former Sligo Rovers boss Paul Cook at Chesterfield.

Our scouts must have been really impressed by that Hibs team that got stuffed 5-1 by Hearts in the Cup Final. Not that anybody thinks otherwise, but this would be such a staggeringly bad signing. Surely this won't happen?

You don't get anywhere near enough bites for the effort you put in IMO.

100% correct. If fans on here think that BIG Daryl Murphy aint good enough for us (Which I don't agree with) then I can tell u Doyle is 2 grades below Murphy. This cannot happen.

As soon as we get this over the line we can all relax, the clinical goalscorer we've been dying for since Hooper left. Send Guidetti back and get the Ginger Van Basten in.

We waste an extraordinary amount of money (and wages) on poor to average players, so this wouldn't surprise me.

For every Wanyama and Hooper there are 7 or 8 duds.
