    How is he being mocked?

People saying he isn't good enough, oh aye that's really horrific of us. He'* a bit of form recently and suddenly folk are back on the bandwagon of a couple seasons ago, wanting him signed.

As I said before, there are better players on the continent. He is 24 now and never really improved that much.

Mackay-Steven would still be a big, big step up from McGregor.

for someone thats only missed about 5 or six games over the last 2 seasons, I cant see how people think he’s injury prone. in the same period of time (from 11/12 to date), through injury he has missed the same amount of games as brown or commons have missed for us, and lustig has missed about 50% more games in just over half the same period of time. He may have had more incidents of injury, but theyre mostly small niggles that you would expect to see in the type of player that does more sprint-related or sharp-burst movements in a game

the season before that, he was being left out because he was stalling on a new contract so that cant really be held against him too much. plus you also have to consider that with the type of player he is, there will be matches that he might not be suited for and will be left out of

hes played 60 odd games in the last season and a half in just domestic competitions, his fitness cant be questioned in that regard. im not banging the drum for us to sign him, I think we should aim a bit higher than him, but id take him over derk, tonev or wakaso at the moment and id rather he came in to the club than chris humphrey

There's another thread where he gets called a one trick pony and other things.

He has more assists this season than Armstrong.

They are two different kind of players.

For the record, I aint overly fussed on either of them but out of the two I'd rather have Armstrong, I see more potential with him. However Liam Henderson, one of our own could very easily reach the level he is playing at with another 4 years first team experience.

Not read through every page, but I'm suspecting like WeekendOffender above that people are mentioning Henderson now in relation to this link. Gotta say I'd rather we continue developing him and giving him game time than spend 2-3mil on Armstrong. That money could and should be used elsewhere.

Like people are saying, I'd rather give Henderson game time than sign Armstrong.

I agree that 3 million is way over the odds for Armstrong, good player nonetheless, but it was a couple of years ago he was wasn't rated higher than Scott Allan.
There's something missing for me to consider him Celtic class, just yet. Ultimately i'm still gutted we didn't go for Gauld he is the real gem, with Ronny talking about buying homegrown recently. I'm convinced he would have went in for Gauld if he had been at united this season! Armstrong wouldn't have had a look in.

He is out of contract in the Summer, and Sheff Utd are believed to have offered around £100,000. In that price bracket, he's worth a gamble for us.

And I'm sure he wouldn't expect to be playing all the time for us. But if he's serious about leaving United for a step up, he'll know he has to work hard to get a place in someones first XI.

Well their's no surprise i'm gonna disagree with that *. We're not exactly spoiled for choice on the right and i don't think you get the tactic, but i'll try and explain it.

Ciftci drops deep into central midfield to pick up the ball and GMS goes from right midfield to centre forward. And he's rapid like.

Totally agree that Henderson should get a long run in the team but i would still love to get Armstrong in. Ronny likes his 4-2-3-1 so i would love to see henderson and armstrong fit into that system. Both are young, good engines not too slight physically and carry a goal threat(maybe not so much henderson, just now) and their best years should be ahead of them. Just cos we sign Armstrong should not mean the end of Henderson or hold him back. Out of all the managers we have had over the years Deila is the one who would adopt the philosophy' if they're good enough they are old enough"

I'd be pretty pleased if we did sign him though.

I wouldn't be pleased but at the same time I wouldn't start a protest outside CP.

Well his first goal against Dundee gives you an idea of the kind of delivery into the box from the right. It's a lucky strike, but you've gotta notice the skills to work the ball onto his left foot.

The second goal though again, he's held the ball up in his own half, won the ball back and within seconds he's in on the keeper and placed it into the corner. Again amazing link up play with Armstrong.

Erskine's goal he's holding the ball up in right midfield, cutting into central midfield and ending up in the strikers position, which left Erskine unmarked.

Then he'* a Kris Commons style corner kick for the fifth goal.

The sixth, well he's on the halfway line and it's taken him 4 or 5 seconds to get into the box.

Would love to see him in a celtic jersey but realistically celtic have been known to let these young Scottish lad leave to go down south be use they don't think they are worth the money wanted from Scottish clubs only for them to go down south and see there stock rise considerably that we could never afford them! Ronnie said he would like Scottish/British player in let's hope he goes through with it!
GMS, Armstrong,Cifci, Anya would be a ideal in this window IMO
