    What's wrong with that?

    Absolutely * all.

Question for those moaning about Denayer's comments:

Are you REALLY so * negative that you don't believe we have a chance at winning (a kockout competition if/when we qualify from the league) with an in-form Johny G, more players in January and a team who have begun to gel?

If so, then why the * are you wishing for Celtic to do well in EL games if you "know" they will amount to * all?

I seem to remember a time when Celtic supporters had ambition and belief..........

Exactly. I'm kind of baffled to be honest at how people think it's a bad thing for him to say this. I don't know if it's rampant superstition or what. What the * else was he supposed to say?! "No we can't win it".

This board sometimes, I swear to *. :38:

I don't know about anybody else but when celtic play at home in Europe I expect a win no matter who we play

Then again if it's away I expect to lose no matter who we play :smiley-laughing002:

If an Oldco player had said what Denayer has said to the press we would be ridiculing them...

And you would look like a complete * because they came within 90 minutes of winning it just 6 years ago.

What's hypocritical about laughing at a first division player saying his first division team could win the EL when they're not even in it? :97:

Anyway, enough talk of those monkey hun fuckpigs, celtic chat this is......

No win situation here for Denayer. If he had said that he didn't think we had much of a chance, there would be fans moaning, and now he has said that we do have a chance, fans are still moaning. He couldn't really say anything other than what he did in my opinion.

This. The boy was asked a question and he answered it with a confidence in himself and his team, and I hope this is the genuine belief among the squad. It shows they have faith in the management and see a positive future with the club.
Problem is saying things like that will inevitably be used as a stick to beat us with, by the media, if we do drop out!

I suppose if he was a bit more media savvy he could have fobbed them off with the usual "we'll take every game as it comes, blah blah blah!" but he's still young and probably not much experience dealing with the media!

Not one of those players are remotely good enough for a European final.

Give over. Look at the teams and players who have appeared in the final over the last few years, not a single one of our players would get anywhere near the Chelsea team, for example, and probably only Van Dijk would get near the Benfica side.

Denayer showing the kind of belief that will see him do well in his career. Top lad.

Its a good attitude for the lad to have in terms of what he can see within the team. Probably not going to happen but nothing wrong with dreaming.

Personally, a couple of good draws and I can see us making through a round or two more but the quality will increase.

It has nothing to do with dreaming. He's a born winner from what I've seen, and guys with that mentality simply don't do anything without believing they'll win and/or be the very best at it.

It's what separates the likes of him from most footballers.

You really don't think Gordon, Brown, Van Dijk, Denayer, Guidetti or Lustig would be good enough to get into the, say, Sevilla team? They would at least be good enough to make the squad.
