I'm a vocal opponent of the poppy, I'm a vocal opponent of how the symbol of the poppy has been hijacked, I'm not a vocal opponent of reflecting on a horrific period of history and in fact a living history. I don't see disturbing the silence as doing anyone any favours.

Although if you're gonna judge me on previous years then id be extremely opposed to the ira and a massive supporter of the British Army :smiley-laughing002:

you see. this is my point. if anyone wants to shun any aspect for personal reasons then they should be allowed, but they should respect those who wish to partake as well.
total respect for the man, and the statement. you see how his respectful stance was met by a dignified and respectful response

It's right that a country honours its war dead, and if Aberdeen want to hold a minutes silence that's their prerogative..

It's also the individuals prerogative whether the want to adhere to it.. A more dignified protest would be to turn your back rather than breaking the silence..

 

I liked Sunderland and all until some their support showed themselves up as the bigoted * that they are.

Just fly a banner with the names of Celtic Players killed in both World Wars, and have our minute of Silence for them

We could fly a banner with the names of those who were killed by the black and tans and have a minutes silence for them. This would go down worse with the British public than disturbing their silence
