Its only a small 5% swing needed. So we will just need to wait for a circumstance when we know a little more people will be ready to jump. I think even now if the poll was done again on Monday the vote would be closer still after all the parties shenanigans about the extra powers today. Already there will be a good number of people who only just bottled out of voting YES that are now wondering if they have been conned.

Voted Yes, and up until Thursday evening believed it would happen. Am still gutted, as someone said, similar to the feeling after Seville. But I'm encouraged by the 45% of our country who want out of the corrupt UK. The fight goes on.
Encouraged by the 72% of young people who voted Yes, but disgusted by the older "I'm alright Jack" 73% who voted no and couldn't give a * about the 1 in 4 children in poverty and the one million people who have the humiliation of queuing at foodbanks to survive.

I stand by what I said. You and the other no voters are selfish, disgusting rats. You sold your country down the river... lowest of the low. Not a shred of respect for any no voter. I won't say what I hope lies in store for them.

I voted 'Yes' to Scottish independence.

I have written about ethnic identity and community on this forum before. I've already said that I do not consider myself an ethnic-Scot. I belong to a wider Irish tradition that took on a unique and particular expression as the diaspora community of Glasgow and other areas in Scotland. I speak with a Glaswegian accent and my family has been in this country for 6 generations. But they were formed in a special community that blossomed from the ravages of famine. That community did not lose its Irish nature by establishing itself in Glasgow. It contributed to the building of that great city and actively engaged wider Scottish society, but it never lost its roots, it never lost its identity. And neither have I.

So when it came time to vote I did not vote due to national identity or out of ethnic pride. There was some consideration for the possibilities that Scottish independence may have had for the situation in Ireland. But my primary reason was that I was in a position to effect real change in the country that my community is a part of and will forever be a part of, even if I will not be. I was in a position to effect change for the poor people of Scotland regardless of their ethnicity or gender. I was in a position to help establish a country that rejected nuclear weapons, and that would provide for the poor and the working classes of the country. There was an opportunity to help contribute to overthrowing of Westminster and its corruption. There was an opportunity to have a chance at creating a fair and just society. So I voted 'Yes' and the majority voted 'No'.

The democratic will of the people was expressed by the referendum. It was the wrong choice. It was the choice of cowards, it was the choice of the greedy and the corrupt, it was the choice of the bigot and the racist. “Wrong is wrong, even if everybody is wrong. Right is right, even if nobody is right." The people exercised their democratic rights on a massive scale. This was good. And the democratic choice of the people was simply the wrong choice. And the nation will suffer for it in the future. Generations will continue to be born into poverty. The United Kingdom, which Scotland proudly proclaims itself as being a part of, will continue its horrendous foreign policy, its unjust wars, its assaults against legitimate states, and its bullying and bribing of small nations. The banking cartels will continue to dictate terms to the nation. Healthcare and education will continue to decline. Westminster will never agree to any treaty, Westminster will never give the people of Scotland what they need. But Westminster will give the people of Scotland what they deserve for having voted 'No'.

And when the UK leaves the European Union, I'm just going to laugh at all of the 'No' voters.

I am finished with Scotland. The events of this past night are simply too much to handle. I could have taken a 'No' vote based on fear and insecurity. I would have reacted the same, but I could understand it. But tonight we've see gangs of prowling Orangemen attacking Nationalists with vile insults, dragging young girls across the concrete as they try to hold on to saltire, this country's own flag. We've seen young men beaten on the streets. We've seen flags burn as they sing their bigotry an sectarianism. The famine's over, why don't you go home?

The truth is that these people are not a minority. The minority of the Glasgow Protestant/Rangers/Community are those that don't sing these songs, those that don't march down Salt Market banging drums and playing flutes. The majority do these things. The majority do not believe we have a home in this city, the city that we built. That they live in one of the greatest cities of the United Kingdom is because we built it. The majority do not consider us human. The majority have no moral qualms with surrounding a poor wee lassie as she's on the ground and dragging her pride from her hands.

Prior to the referendum I was already set to leave this country. I've been making arrangements for months now, and this is due to my own personal situation, and not because of the vote. But my leavetaking now will be a bitter thing. I wanted to leave the country and head for new waters with a sense of fondness, or even pride.

But I cannot do that. The scum that were rioting in Glasgow tonight are a direct product of the hatred this country has always shown my people, and my community. The filth that were rioting in Glasgow tonight could have been put down generations ago except for the fact that the same people were the ones running this *-forsaken country. This makes bitter.

The media will say that we're just as bad as them.

And so my bitterness has turned into hatred.

Sadly the changing demographic in the Six Counties will ( I think) see more of these knuckle draggers moving to their spiritual home, Glasgow over the next decade.

    Hope Im wrong

I voted Yes. I will continue to support the Yes movement and garner more support. This is far from over.

Does it not worry you that the people you are most closely associated with are huns?

Dress it up any way you like but time and time again on here you have shown yourself to be unionist, anti Muslim, anti Catholic, (not anti Protestant funnily enough even though you claim to hate all religion).

Sleekit * to be honest, trying to dress it up as "no borders", "atheism", asking loaded questions that are filled with your views, pretending to play devils advocate to mask your true feelings when in actual fact you have some abhorrent views that are in direct opposition to just about everything our club stands for.

I really don't understand how someone like you can end up supporting Celtic when there was another club in Glasgow that ticked all your boxes.

Emphatic yes from me, no more nuclear weapons, the right to self determination, getting the actual government you vote for, a real push to end inequality and tackle poverty and for my country to become a progressive, diverse society.

Sadly it all lies in tatters just now.

Not in my opinion. 45% was a great return considering the hostile media. I genuinely believe that Scotland will be Independent within 15 years.

I was not eligible to vote, but WOULD have voted YES.

I think the issue is now settled for 20 - 30 years to come, no more referendum. That was it. But what can one do? It was a democratic vote. Good thing is the peaceful nature of everything. In other countries such issues result in (civil) wars...

All Scotland can hope for now is more autonomy within the UK.

I personally see a certain danger in the UKIP's strength. Should the UK leave the European Union, Scotland were out as well. And that would be very bad for the economy.

Anyway you can assume no "NO-voter" will ever complain about a Tory government any more. That would be too hypocritical!

No I don't think so. 45% is still a very large section of the Scottish people, add to that the overwhelming media bias against our cause and the fact that if you take away the pensioners vote we would've become independent, I think we'll at least get another chance in 10-15 years time.

The sad thing is, if we want to piece it back together we're gonnae have to get some of these * to wake up n realise they've been gave a raw deal.

Give it a week or 2 and there will be outcry when they realise things are just gonna get worse.

Probably true with a lot of pensioners. I don't think my granny has Internet and a lot of 80 year olds will be the same.

Are we? Britannia does not rule the waves anymore. Many here are freemen/women of our own independent nations. We were brave enough to stand on our own two feet.

My boxes are ticked by a football team, by the way they played, by the players, as a wee boy who loved the game......unfortunately i was denied the luxury of being brought up in a household where i had rebel songs played to me at 3 years old.
My * father shamed me by showing no bias based on religious divide. The * let me follow whichever team i wanted because it was just a game to a wee boy.

It was only in my teens i gradually learned about the bitterness and hatred from people like you.

I know the history now ok, but i do hate both religions. You have the nerve to accuse me of focussing only on Catholics and Muslims.....what a load of *.Every single time i see the OO being discussed i condemn them without blinking.Protestantism has been divided into so many factions it is less likely to attract attention for the whole movement, but i can assure you, i have an much contempt for every single Protestant faction as i do Catholicism.

I made the same decision to vote NO as many other Celtic fans, including Billy McNeil and John Reid and Jim Murphy and George Galloway. Some of those names may be not be flavour of the month just now, but that is by the by.
