The strike playlist is balls. Says it launches a random one each time but it's always that nexus mission.

Miserable * are only giving 2 Vanguard/Crucible marks per mission.

    * how does missions work? I randomly have teammates sometimes but they don't talk or help or anything and usually are doing a different mission altogether by the looks of it. Pure balls

You have your mission. If they happen to be doing the same one then it's a winner because you can help each other. Most times other players are doing a different mission but your paths still cross at one point or another.

But is the game not supposed to be co-op? I'd rather they weren't there at all in that case, they just confuse things..

Traded this in earlier and got £22 can't believe i fell for the hype with this its the most soulless and repetitive game i think i have ever played and i tried really hard to like it but the complete lack of content and the terrible story is too much to forgive even if the gameplay is actually quite fun and well polished.

No matter how bad it is though it's the fastest selling IP in history and has set the standard for the future of AAA games, where the big developer can spend hundreds of millions on marketing whilst completely neglecting the product, why make a good game when people are daft enough to buy and pre-order it regardless of how bad the it is.

This is just the beginning of the game though.

People need to remember this is like an MMO where there will be loads more content added gradually. The story was horrible but that's just the start of the overall story.

Bungie said they wanted the lore of the game to rival that of Star Wars. There's no way that the game as it is will do that, nor was it intended to.

Just hang tight and the game will be a masterpiece.

About 5 folk have told me the exact same thing you have and i have said each time that you're just defending your bad purchase :smiley-laughing002: it's not more content it's DLC for a short pedestrian product that costs more money, what ever happend to shipping a full game. It isn't an MMO there is nothing massive about Destiny it's just an MO, in an MMO maps aren't small, lootless and empty and the 'grind' actually feels worth it instead of pointless, the PVP is actually really fun IMO but gets stale very fast.

Bungie's words were that Destiny's lore would match LOTR and Game Of Thrones which just stinks of false advertising to sell even more copies there is no lore and the story is laughable, i'm not hating on it i try to find the positives in every game i play but man this is one * product. I traded it in and got TLOU for PS4 instead and wont look back, Destiny will be dead by Xmas IMO.

Im enjoying it so far, find it pretty addictive. Only thing i hate is the amount of crucible and vanguard marks you need to get one piece of legendary gear.

Agreed with some of above....im liking it but not loving it,getting pretty boring already, online crashes all the time and so you stuck with main story, even when i play Online Pvp its kinda *.The Game needs something already, and not at a price IMO.

Was also thinking of trading it in already,i was gonna put the money towards FIFA,but that looks *,so i might just get The Last Of Us,as i never played online at all on it.

    Roll on GTA,Battlefront and Evolve

Is this a common trait for the gaming industry nowadays?

Spend more on marketing and building hype than on the actual game content, hoping that the masses will buy it?

I've seen people mention elsewhere that they are bored of this now already.

Reeks of another watch dogs, all hype and no end product

I'm still enjoying this game. Done a couple of strike playlists last night so got to lvl 20. I can understand where people are coming from about being abit "samey" but i enjoy the challenge. Killing the fat dude with the chains at lvl 20 is way harder than doing it at lvl 14 or whatever it was. Daily Heroic Missions keep the challenge / fun level up to and i absolutely love my Hunterss Bladedancer special...* ninja ftw.

There's a new strike or raid coming tomorrow (i forget which one).

I also think it helps who you play the game with. I'm playing with my brother and a buddy so its always a good laugh, especially my warlock buddy who for some reason is an absolute aggro magnet.

Is there some sort of explanation guide for this game? What's a strike playlist and heroic missions and raids? I've no clue

I've been playing the game over the last few days and I'm enjoying it so far. What I will say though is that I've never seen a game which has half a dozen people (the most I've seen so far) on a relatively small map, overhyped to the levels of Destiny.

I don't see how this game justifies the size of its budget as theres nothing groundbreaking or new about it. I've seen games with much smaller budgets match or go beyond what Destiny has achieved. I wouldn't even say its refined any mechanics or gameplay elements that make it a particularly fantastic FPS.

The PvP is pretty fun, although it remains to be seen how long it'll hold my interest. The biggest issue I have is with the actual world maps themselves. Everything seems so empty and lifeless, you can argue that it makes sense in terms of the games 'story', but everything seems so barren. When the maps are as small as they are in Destiny there needs to be more content in them or more of them.

Maybe it's because outwith the strike missions I've been playing it by myself, but even with the Borderland games (games which were also meant to be played with other people) I had a lot of fun playing alone which I'm not really getting with Destiny.

Yes, Bungie will be adding stuff (they've already started) but if companies are asking us to pay £50-55 for a game, then they should at least be making sure that there's plenty of content in the base game at release. I'm not sure if I'm completely onboard with the 'this is just beginning' sentiment either. I honestly think most of the content that should have been in the base game, or should be free updates will instead be overpriced DLC's.

I think the game would have been better had they not tried to make some sort of pseudo/half arsed MMO.

Make it a massive open world game with one huge map or something like No Mans Sky (except make it a handful of fully designed worlds, instead of billions of procedurally generated ones), add in a mechanic like Journey where you may come across random players occasionally and can choose to ignore or help one another (you can still invite people to your game). I actually read a preview of Destiny about a year or so ago, which sounded almost exactly like this and I sort of wish this had been the game we got.

Sony Santa Monica studios were actually developing a game like it, but due to issues with the development, and Sony partnering with Activision for Destiny (they thought the games were similar and didn't want to risk Activision going with MS) they cancelled the game .

Theres a Destiny wiki site thats probably the best place to get info on stuff.

Strikes are basically missions that have a boss battle at the end. They unlock at different levels. A strike playlist is basically a list of strikes you can just do continuosly. It's like putting your entire Ipod library on shuffle.

Heroic missions are just story line missions on a harder difficulty. For example, in heroic mode there is no respawn timer. You can only respawn if a team mate revives you.

A raid is like a 6 player strike. No help is given in raids so the team has to work out everything themselves like where to go, what to do, how to open doors, enter the next area etc. Raids can also be left and re-joined (they can last up to 3 hours). Raids are re-set every Tuesday so aslong as you complete a raid between Tuesdays you won't lose your Raid progress, which brings me onto...

...something i've only just read online. There is no matchmaking facility for raids, so unless you have 5 friends with PS4's & Destiny the chances of even taking part in a raid is zilch. Some folks on the Destiny website are trying their best to get some sort of matchmaking forum on the go but for Destiny not to have a matchmaking system for this is down right scandalous. Only 3 of "us" have a PS4 so unless Bungie does something about this it's highly unlikely we'll be doing Raids anytime soon :38:

That's one of the most stupid decisions Bungie could have made. There's pretty much zero chance of me ever being able to do a raid then, seeing as I'd be lucky to get 2 or 3 people together.

Likewise, unless we can get some sort of Talk Celtic party together. Might just be feasible then.
