Stefan Šćepović!

Can't help but feel that people took an instant dislike to him before he had even kicked a ball. Feels as though people are wanting him to fail, I think he'll be a great player for us.

 

I did, I've always said that, then the Guidetti signing and performances have made that even worse for Scepovic..

Having said that i still want the guy to do well here..

I'm not one of those people that wants our own players and managers to fail as it means we as a club aren't succeeding..

 

Right now I am really confused about him. I see something there, he looks good technically and has some intelligent movement and link up play (see Stokes' chance), but then again he looks very weak, timid, and a guy that isn't going to bust a gut for the team like Guidetti.

Flashes of Miku about Scepo so far. REALLY hope that he can take some confidence from his goal last night and kick on now, but I'm not entirely confident he will. He has all the makings of a guy that won't make it here. I can see it now, the guy who turned us down in the summer who the fans really wanted turns out to be a massive dud.

 

He needs a string of games which hes probably not gonna get with Guidetti in. Hope we don't regret prioritising Guidetti if he leaves us after his loan and we're left with a striker devoid of confidence that we actually paid for.

 

I'm hoping with Guidetti being number 1 at the minute that verbally he has and Ronny have spoke about him staying here permanently..

It would make no sense to have him playing over Scepovic otherwise..

 

There is definitely something there that shows he could be a player, Deila was saying he was wanting him to get a bit stronger over the season.

If he starts getting decent game time I can see him getting on a good run of scoring.

 

Aye hes a big skinny *, I tnought we were getting a big tank of a striker when he signed.

 

First goal in the bag at a new club is massive...

Hope he can kick on.. He will have only improve if he gets more starts and that's the issue.. We play one up top and Guidetti shown more so far so should start..

If we can't tie Gudetti down to a pernament move in Jan we should play Stefan more as he is our player!

 

You dislike him because he was going to go to getafe instead of us? You do know that it was his wife that wanted to stay in Spain and he was only going along with her decision?

 

That goal last night would have done him the world of good because i think all he lacks is confidence.

 

He * us about big time at the last minute, so yes that's the reason..

He said specifically that he turned down offers from a number of big leagues in Europe, so erm, aye...........

Who do you want to believe, the guy that said he wanted to come then left us hanging in Paris to go to Madrid where he embarrassed himself and came back.crawling and took a deal 3 grand under the original? Or the guy who came straight up and signed straight away ?

Erm......

 

Despite his pretty woeful finishing last night, it was the first time I actually thought there was something about him. I don't recall a game in recent times where our striker got into so many good positions and actually was willing to use his head!

His finishing will come when his confidence does, although his goal scoring record to date was in the spanish second division, we know he can finish.

 

Jim mcguiness will sort out his strength issue.

If you squint your eyes a little he looks like Luis Suarez!
Looked a different player after he scored hopefully he starts tomorrow.

 

TBF this confused the * out of me. ( mainly because I thoughtit was the Stefan Johansen thread )

 

He was missing chances, and the crowd really didn't help with the guys confidence, they seemed to take it out on him more than any other player when he miscued a pass or something like that. If we got behind this guy and showed confidence in him, I bet he'd grow to be a class player for us. It kind of seems like the whole crowd is against him at times. Some fans seem to be holding a grudge, but to me the guy is almost over eager to impress.

 

Think him and Guidetti would make a great partnership up front

He tried a bit too hard the other night, imo. He could have had three or four so he's getting into positions.

Think he knew that Guidetti would be back in the first 11 tomorrow, so he just tried too hard.
