    It is however the wages as usual are the stumbling block.

    If we really wanted to I fully believe we could afford to * £5m on a striker, but we won't.

    jelavic is/was an absolutely fantastic centre forward . literally exactly what we need right now , i actually thought he could have went on to bigger things.

    If we can find another jelavic type in the eastern europe market for 4 or 5 million then we are laughing .

    Slaw is correct mate, i think we would pay 5 mill for a player but will not pay a 5 mill players wage demands - all the players mentioned on here are worth 5 mill or over when the OP said within our budget.

    Felt that we should have went for Ricky Van Wolfswinkel in the summer when Norwich were relegated.

    Other players who went down who could shine up here are Kenwyne Jones (good for Europe as a lone striker), Bryan Ruiz (Fulham want £3m), Hugo Rodallega and Kostantinos Mitroglou (supposedly been told he won't play for Fulham again)

    that one sailed last season derby would be looking for a lot more than the £750k they paid, to similar to strikers we have in terms of style and build, need a out and out target man.

    It's not who we think the club WILL sign, it's who we would TRY to sign given a 3-5m budget.
