I agree Lennon has put up with more * than any other Celtic player/manager no doubt, the point i am making is he left Celtic for his own reasons, to further his own career. I've absolutely no hatred towards Neil nor disappointment, just wish people would wake up and stop blaming the board for a manager moving on.

There is no evidence of this. I realise their is also no evidence to the contrary but personally I choose not to believe this. I also believe that in the future people will think of him more fondly as WGS has become more popular now than when he was our manager.

Don't think that was the only reason, but of course he'd want to further his career. What exactly is wrong with someone wanting to leave because they want to improve as a manager?

He did what he set out to do, he's struggled a bit with depression and he's made enough money to do what he likes. Top managers like Lennon will do well in England. I look forward to seeing how he gets on. Guy deserves a decent job and a Championship side will suit him.

The pressure cooker of being Celtic manager probably took up so much of his time, at some point you need to take a break from it, escape the goldfish bowl for a while and go and live life. Enjoy your hard earned cash.

As for putting off Petrescu, well from what i gather the job just wasn't for him. Whereas Lennon wanted Deila as his number 2, so read into that what you will.

Sounding out a new manager, it makes a lot of sense to actually front up about the problems, the problems are still workable. It's just that Lennon was maybe saying this or that, i like to think it would be along the lines of, "If you think it'll be an easy ride, think again."

The difference is Deila knew what he was walking into and still took the job. So we did ok.

    The plot thickens...

    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/...ews/neil-lennons-advisor-responds-dan-4048024

NEIL LENNON’s adviser last night hit back at claims his client talked Dan Petrescu out of taking on the Celtic job.
    Record Sport reported
on Tuesday how, after accepting the manager’s role at Qatari club Al Arabi, the former Chelsea full-back told Romanian TV he had turned down the chance to succeed Lennon in Glasgow’s East End.
Petrescu claimed to have made his decision after speaking with Celtic’s “previous manager” who warned him the Scottish champions have problems.
But Lennon is believed to have been stunned by Petrescu’s comments and last night his agent Martin Reilly insisted no such discussions took place.
Reilly said: “We saw the story And we are a bit confused by what is being claimed.
“I’ve spoken to Neil about it and I can assure you he has not had any discussions with Dan.
“We understand this came from an interview with a Romanian TV station and can only assume that something has been lost in translation.
“Neil would never warn anyone not to move to Celtic.”

There we go, earlier in this thread I said that this was probably just very poor translation. Daily Record will try anything to get headlines and if they can make the Romanian - English translation seem like he's slating Celtic and get Neil Lennon involved.

Hopefully this teaches a lesson to the Celtic fans than slated Neil Lennon here and believed everything they read in a Daily Record article. You were taken for fools.

Both versions have now came out. Is it because Lennon left Celtic that there is no more "in lennon we trust" from a lot of us.

16 PAGES on this thread when the original story broke. All the usual fickle fans, board haters etc etc spouting their mouth off, now after this latest 'revelation' there's been 7 POSTS. Some of you need to take a good long look at yourself before swallowing more tripe to fill your agenda, the agenda that crap papers like this want you to lap up.

I think we should devise someway to ensure that only Celtic fans are allowed on here .
Every thread , no matter what topic is infiltrated by people claiming to be Celtic fans but who are actually people who have an anti Celtic agenda and are using Celtic forums to spread their hate .
