Good point mate. I was at the Rapid game and when the bottle was thrown the Rapid player went down as if shot by a secret sniper in the stand. I remember people saying that TV would prove that the bottle didn't hit him but really all it proved was that some clown tossed a bottle in the direction of a Vienna player. Don't look for TV evidence to bail us out as all it proves is that contact was made. The guy is an utter * and if his mates see him I hope to * they kick his * in.

I first thought the fan had slit dida's throat with a knife or something else xD

    I was shocked, but dida's a great comedian ^^

We do not deserve to lose 3points just because of this...

The Celtic Song so long as Dean Park doesn't sing it.

i would love to buy a gun and shoot the stupid * in the head who ran on to the feild and hit dida. he has ruined the greatest night in my celtic history and i have been watching celtic for 24 years and been a season ticket holder for 14 years. this result is even better than beating manchester united last season untill that stupid * antics.

i hope the * gets a life time ban from parkhead.

have just had an email conversation with a director of the company I work for here in Australia who happens to be a FIFA referee.

He was laughing about the goalkeeper assault, or more accurately, laughing at the keeper's antics.

I asked him if he thought there was any chance of Celtic having points deducted or being forced to replay the match. His exact words were, "Good * not at all. Whatever gave you that idea?"

I explained about some of the media comments about possible sanctions.

The FIFA Referee's view, for what it is worth, and I believe it is worth a lot more than a media hack's, is as follows, verbatim:

"UEFA will fine Celtic but there is no chance of anything beyond that. It was blatantly obvious that the goalkeeper was trying it on. Everyone could see that. They would look very foolish if they deducted points but the most important thing is, it would set a very dangerous precedent. It would give the message to every cheat in the world what can be achieved by faking that sort of thing. UEFA would be making a rod for their own backs to take it beyond a fine."

Nicked from CQN..made me feel a bit easier

The ref sounds spot on, it would totally send out the wrong message if Celtic had points deducted or were made to play the game again, it would just encourage more players to cheat.

A fine is fair, for a lapse of security, at most closing the stand the fan came from

I was really worried about it last night too. Until in the middle of the night I realized what the ref said in my sleep.

What a dangerous precedent. You would have fans running on the field slapping their own players and pretending to be other fans...etc. Plus they want to get rid of diving and rewarding a dive like that will be another dangerous precedent that you can get out of a loss.

IMO the worst punishment we could get would be to play our remaining 2 home matches behind closed doors. If this happens, we're basically *.
