Think this "one of the biggest clubs in the world" myth should be put to bed, unfortunately.

Considering I'm 2/3s of the way to becoming a fully chartered accountant suggests otherwise. You can't even spell McDonald's properly, while typing like a toddler suggests you have the brain power of an Atari.

I think you are majorly wrong. PL's claim that we don't bank for ANY champions league money completely negates your argument to be frank.

I posted quotes from Lennon regarding a serious lack of investment just back there also, that speaks volumes about how he felt. Is he telling lies?

There is no chance fans are going to continue ploughing hard earned cash into a club which invests little in the playing squad and plays Russian roullette every summer.

Half a million so far this summer, at least they've actually spent something.

I didn't say lennon was happy about the lack of funding for the team but he understood how things were at the club.

I'm more than happy for you to use your chartered accountant skills to go and look out the last few years statements from our club and show me where the club has hidden/stolen/stashed the money that all the board haters seem to think we have.
After all it should be easy if they are doing so much wrong.

Just keep sticking your head in the sand. More and more fans are seeing through the board each day, we will be playing in front 30,000 fans this year if we don't perform a 'Hail Mary' next week.

Yes we may well be but if the club has not got the money we need to handle the CL then what can it do.
Everyone is shouting sack the * board yet no one has shown they are doing anything wrong or different to any other board.
They are running the club within its means.

    Historically, absolutely.

Currently, not even in the top 40, i would guess.

The guy came out and said we could spend 6-8 million on a player, so how does that entail we have no money?

The team just now is a symptom of the board. We've been told we are in a great financial position for years yet still continually downsize, that doesn't make sense.

Exactly. Our sense of entitlement and arrogance is depressing at times.

I would protest against 'the Board' if it was necessary... but it's not in these circumstances, so I voted 'no'.

We have the players to beat Legia Warsaw... 2 or 3 of them would have been as well not turning up last night, and the managers strategy was beyond bizarre! Last night was not 'the Boards' fault.

You didn't answer his question, though. We are a PLC and so all the information is out there to be scrutinised. You are training to be an accountant and so obviously have a fair degree of expertise in the area, so it's a fair question for him to ask: where is all this money you think we have?

When Desmond bought Celtic he was hoping we would get into the English Premiership and he could then sell on at a tidy profit, as he has done with a number of other businesses.

He now appears to have lost interest. I believe he will be happy to see this season out winning the SPFL by a point or two over Motherwell or whoever. He has our season ticket money, Forster, Van Dijk and Ambrose will be sold on. Any replacements will cost a fraction of the fees received. Another profit will be made and Desmond will rely on the "return" of SEVCO to persuade us to renew our season tickets next season. The mythical "£100 saving" will continue as they know they have no chance of getting renewals in numbers if prices are jacked up.

Protest is appropriate. Why is Lawwell on £1 million a year to run a small and declining business? Why doesn't Desmond put the club up for sale and let us see if there is anyone with ambition who wants to take over?

Given the state of Scottish football I don't have any illusions about the future. However, a disinterested owner can only lead to further decline.
