they had more possetion than we did and we are the better team i would think. and our fullbacks were the problem aswell. we need more pace, momentam and speed and , more skill.

 

i agree beatts had to go and pace in not enough on its own but skill is of less value when its at half pace.

 

The problem is, mcdonald doesnt run behind the defence he runs infront of them, which is completely hopeless.

fact is no one knows the EXACT fee, all we see is REPORTED fee's
though, fact is, acording to the celtic manager celtic spent 2million

 

The problem is not the players its WGS. He seems to not have a clue. Away to spartak we started with an atacking 442 formation and we were struggling to cope until the players droped off and gave spartak the ball only then did we get any joy as we denied them space. Exactly the same happend in Donesk however it was to late as we had conceeded 2 goals you would have thought he might have learnt from the Sartak game. I mean even Man U played with just Rooney upront last night against Lisbon and hit them on the break.

Its maybe understandble to play a more attacking formation as WGS doesnt seem to buy a decent defensive player either in defence or midfield Brown and Donati are not good enough to play as a midfield two at champions league level as they dont offer enough protection to the back four Ok maybe if our back four was Maldini Baresi Nesta and Oddo then we might be able to take some risks further forward but no WGS thinks Caldwell is a good defender for gods sake how many poor performances does it take him to realise we needed some defenders. Mcmanus should be our worst defender not our best everybody can see we need experience in there why cant strachen. Maybe we need Balde back on the short term to attack some of these cross balls as they just seem to fly over Caldwells head and to a lesser extent Mcmanus. I know Balde is not a great option but surely cant be any worse. Also why let your only genuinely pacy forwards go without replacing them a joke decision from a joke manager who makes to many mistakes at the highest level. In my opinion it is not the players fault that their not good enough at CL level its WGS as he bought them and has sold better players.

 

caldwell was by far our best defender v Shaktar. He is also better in the air than mick or JFK. He can really jump.
