I am more than happy with our summer signings. Miller's gone, but that's life. I would have liked him to stay.
Brown is probably our best signing since Henke and Skippy is showing some great talent. Donati is improving his fitness and showing some great stuff. With Doumbe as cover for any of the back 4 and Killen cover for the front men I think we have a tasty squad.
The moaning about the lack of signing activity on our behalf on the last day of the transfer window shows how negative some supporters are on TalkCeltic.
    Hence this poll.

I believe it was once said " You can please some of the people all of the time all of the people some of the time but never all the people all of the time". That's why there are these forums and phone in's etc for people to vent their frustrations, anger, praise. If everone agreed then what would be the point of being a supporter?!

I personally would like to have seen a genuine left back(kicks with left foot) brought in,but hey, i didn't happen and we're still better than anything that manky mob across the city has to offer!!

    Hail Hail

Our signings were great with Brown and Donati, good cover players up front but with the current form of our forwards I would have liked to have signed a top goal scorer.

I do believe that we have done good business and NOT rushed in just cause the transfer window was closing! WGS obviously believes his squad is good enough for the season up to the January transfer window, and I would have to agree. There is absolutly no need to buy mediocre players who are overpriced!

Our defence will get more stable, our midfield is the best in the country and hopefully the forwards will start to gel.

I think we've done some good business in the summer. But I think one or two signings in the right areas could have turned us from a pretty good European side to a very threatening side, im still really worried about certain areas such as defense and our ability to get goals when chances are sparce. Still a good, but not great squad though, im fairly happy.

Seems were gradually biulding a side, rather than splashing all in one summer.

If you read my posts clearly you would see that i am "Not sure. I think we should have signed another big name player or two." :p

I think we proved yesterday even with our 2nd squad midfield on that we can win games easily.

I'm happy at the current playing sqaud, not overly surrised that we never added to the squad on deadline day, however slightly dissapointed in the sale of Kenny miller, having posted profits for last year i woud have thought that there was no need to balance the books with the sale of him.

However i do realise that £3million for a player whom we signed for free 12 months ago is an absolute steal! i will miss his work ethic in the team but i'm sure that will be overshadowed by the likes of Brown.:celt_2:

110% yes, I am perfectly happy with our young and vibrant squad.

We can play the most pleasant football to watch when we want to, as seen so far this season. We have a young squad who will hopefully stay together for at least two or three seasons and become an awesome unit.

I am excited by the energy of our team!:shamrock:

I was happy until Miller left. I'm frustrated because I think we are one striker and possibly a left back away from a truly great team. I'm delighted with the signings of brown and donati and pleased with the signings of killen and mcdonald. I think we have by far the best team in scotland but losing miller and not bringing anyone in mystifies me. After the way he left - scoring 3 great goals in a game and a sub appearance - we will always wonder what kind of second season miller could have had. I, like everyone else, slated him when he missed the countless sitters last season, but think of his performance against benfica, probably the best individual performance of any player under strachan, we know he has the ability somewhere.

I like mcdonald but he's unproven and has missed aload of chances, particularly when it mattered against spartak. It's alot of pressure on him when magic is playing so * and he is the only player who can play off voh as the nippy wee striker.

We also could have done with a left midfielder, we know the skill and potential mcgeady has but he doesn't know when or what to do with the ball at the important time and is inconsistent. As much as I hate him for being the judas that he is maloney would have been perfect. I'm not convinced with riordan either, when he plays left midfield he is far, far too lightweight and looks out of position, when he plays upfront he's so anonymous you hardly know he's playing and again looks out of position.

This may have come off as a little negative, that's only because I feel a few singnings could really have taken us forward. As it stands we have a very good side with a number of good young players who can only get beter. Brown and donati could be our centre midfield for the next 5 - 10 years and we are miles ahead of the huns.

I think Miller leaving shocked a few of us and it would have been nice to get a natural left back even if it was just to keep Naylor on his toes.

Everyone can see we need a left back to cover Naylor (he went down yesterday and we would have had to re jig the defence totally to cover it) so why so many yes votes?? Apart from the LB issue i'm delighted and we may be lucky and get away with it?

one or two more signings, dont care if they have 2 or 22 letters in there names. but still, the closest option was signings with big names

Yup.Think there is a hint of the panic button being pressed because our major signings were done early.Full back cover isn't perfect but Caldwell/Caddis can play right and O'Dea or Conroy can play left. Not ideal but not a disaster especially in the SPL.
We improved our squad vastly by spending overall less than a million quid.Huns have spent waaayyyy beyond their means on mediocre and unproven players

Still think the 3 million for Miller was good business tbh.

Im happy with the squad up until the strikers i cannot see any of our strikers getting 25+ a season. In the SPL it wont matter so much as our midfield will genrate plenty of goals but in the CL i dont really think our strikers will be bale to grab 2 or 3 goals in a match and since the teeams will be harder the midfieldmight struggle to get goals.

The last big name we signed was Vennegoor of Hesselink. Maybe we should sign Georges Ba.

Only 4 quid to have his name on your jersey too. :84:

im really a firm believer in the fact that O Dea will be somehitng in a year especially since hes already knocking at the first team door its players like him that we have to hold onto though

we lack real wide men to cover for and push our first picks. We need one more decent fast striker. The rest is pretty decent.

Missing? Quality players. The only one on your team I would want anywhere near my teams is Boruc. Nakamura is just free kicks. The rest would be benchheaters in the championship.
