i thought he was harshly criticised at liverpool when he was not that bad, however he was never a brilliant player. he will be even less of a player now. dissappeared off the map...then comes back for england, weird lol

He has crouch and bent who I don't think he has called up.

 

Typical England, we have a midfield injury problem so Mclaren (the *) decides to bring in a mediocre forward. Anyway I prefer my club to my country!

Did i read that he was underated?? Well he cost them like 11 million quid and averaged less than 10 goals a season. Underated? NO, *? YES.

Personally IMO if a strikers cannot score at least 15 goals a season then thats insufficient.

So calling Heskey is a big shock. But then again the whole English team is well overated. All the other strikers Bent, Crouch, Johnson, Owen are over-rated. Owen was never prolific as a striker..no way near the likes of Van Nistelrooy or Larsson. And he was a big MISS at Real Madrid. Bent is well over-rated and no-way worth 16.5million. If he's worth 16 million, then we should at least have got 8 million for Kenny Miller. If you look at the other major nations... Argentina, Italy, Brazil, France or Germany most of England's strikers (except Rooney) would not be able to get on the bench let alone the starting 11. Wayne Rooney is also a striker I feel has not proven himself yet in terms of his goalscoring. He needs to score more than he does at the moment. Basically no real quality finisher for England since Shearer.

 

Might as well go the whole hog and call up Teddy sheringham as well, i mean he's setting the world alight down at.....er.....hmmmm...some league one side i think......

Can see it now Heskey and Sheringham upfront striking terror into...nah * it.....

and i 100% belive we can draw or beat france. we have the toughest group out there imo.
the world cup finalists and world cup winners, the world cup qtr finalists ukraine who only got put out by eventual winners italy.
yet, wee Scotland are sitting second in the group ~?

 

Yeh i think we can get a draw, a win might be a bit too much but you never know, if Ukraine can draw with Italy or even beat them it will be veen better and i am sure we can bet Italy and Ukraine at Hampden.
