    He scored 13 goals in 47 appearances in Europe, not exactly prolific. He spent more time on the ground punching the grass because he fell again than he did with the ball at his feet. The 2012/13 season he done well for us but that is it.

    From what I have seen in the last couple of games I would 100% bring him back, he knows whats expected and like previous folk stated in Europe he was normally our only threat going forward.

    :smiley-laughing002: sure, he had games where he did very little but the thing is, he has the ability to rise to the occasion and put in top performances against top teams. The fact most opposition managers in Europe pinpointed him as our dangerman says it all.

    Stokes and Commons good players at SPL level havnt shown this ability, that's why I want Sammy back and all we have to do is give him a contract.

    to be honest i wouldn't want him back in my opinion he is slow, lazy and greedy and i personally have never liked him

    This is laughable. This is Europe not the SPL, 13 goals in 47 places him easily inside our top ten scorers of all time and is * impressive. Especially as a midfielder.

    Here are some other attacking players for comparison:
    Commons- 4 goals in 31 games
    Stokes- 2 goals in 20 games
    Pukki - 9 goals in 37 games in ALL competitions.

    John Hartson- 8 goals in 43 games
    Chris Sutton- 16 goals in 44 games.

    Exactly, people really need to stop talking about Samaras for his goals return. Which he did chip in with big vital goals but he played left wing, not a striker and hasn't been for years.

    He's got plenty pace and always manages to win free kicks in dangerous areas on the pitch. Would love him back.

    Funny thing is he is probably in Glasgow at the moment he probably still lives here and has probably not sold his house yet until he finds a new club so would be easy for him to rejoin us. He is a frustrating big pansy at times bt a Celtic squad with Sammy in it is better than a Celtic squad without him.

    I think the fact that we are now in the 2nd week of August and Sammy is not signed up by any club, shows that whatever he was offered by Celtic wasn't far off the market value .
    I am aware of his statement that the club never made him an offer , his agent didn't really back him up. There are hundreds of players out of contract just now , most of them are past it , or never arrived and never will but certainly there are loads of them worried .
