I would agree. He should not have panicked and gone to ground. Ideally force the attacker wide and make it difficult for him. Fraser Forster did the same at Ibrox in 2014

Terrible decision, the game changed after that. He's been excellent all season but twice this season his decision making has been woeful has twice * up in two big games - he can just about get away with the match v Inter because if it wasn't for him the group games we wouldn't have qualified.

Yesterday though, it's hard to stick up for him

Thought he was looking odds on to get the ball before Watkins. He's very slow.

    100% correct.

I'm one of the CG cheerleaders and think he's genuinely in with a shout for POTY, but he *-up big-time with that one.

Yup, others had screwed-up and left him in a * position, but at 1-0 up and with half the match to play, he HAS to make a very conservative challenge and accept there's a good chance it will become 1-1.

Keepers rush into similar challenges all the time... I'm not sure if they feel they will be criticised if they only put in a half-arsed attempt and the striker scores, but I reckon most (switched-on) fitba fans would understand that sometimes you have to pick your battles!

Those challenges only HAVE to be made if there's little time on the clock and losing a goal would be critical.

Think he was caught in two-minds... which is very unlike him.

May have been mentioned, but if he'd gone with his arms instead of his legs, would prob have stopped it.

Nae danger it was a passback.

Harsh criticism of Gordon, who has been immense this season. Sure, he made a mistake, all players do, it's unfortunate that it was in an important game, but s**t happens ...................... move on

Yeah he could have dealt with it differently, but then again there's a wad of decisions made by players during that game that could have resulted in different outcomes.

Certainly one of the last players I'd be putting the blame game on.

See if Gordon was behind me I would be very aware of his legs making him not able to run properly. So I would do my utmost not to have put him in that postion. Mathews wee toe poke could have just been a bit harder or even bring the player down and risk maybe getting sent off. Anway , here is to next year and the treble!!Lol. We cannot win them all.

@OptaCeltic: Craig Gordon at Celtic in all competitions - 51 games, 32 clean sheets, 28 goals conceded.

Amazing stats for any keeper never mind one that was out the game for two years.

    Not bad at all!

What was Forster's clean sheet record in a season btw? 32 sounds an awful lot...

Well deserved. Will someone please take that number 7 jersey? Preferably someone who can fill it.

Johansen is the only player even close to deserving the number 7 jersey, even still it should be reserved for that special player.

You could be right and I kinda agree but I reckon that he needs to prove it in the CL to top The Holy Goalie and The Bigman
