World Cup - Group D

Discussion in 'World Football' started by Markybhoy, Jun 10, 2014.

  1. Book online tours when you go. My folks did it and got a more indepth tour. My Old man was in the centre of the Coliseum and going through the catacombs whereas the turn up on the day tours were only in the stands.

  2. Paul67(im sure he wont mind me saying this) has been to Rome loads of times and he's still not seen everything that he wants to see. I'm a bit of a culture vulture and I dont think there is any city in the world with more culture than Rome. I WILL go there one day. I have to.

People talk about London and what a great city it is, and I suppose it is in it's own way. But I cant imagine London being as good as Rome.

  3. So tell me...............how did Lineker and Shearer react to the score tonight? Hope they were gutted!!

  4. It's laughable, earlier on before the game, the English pundits on ITV and BBC were all saying this Italian team were nothing special and not as good as previously. Now that they got beat there giving it the "we can take positives from this, we done well against an excellent side":smiley-laughing002:

  5. There's a fundamental difference between us and Italy. In this country if a player is older than 32 we think they're finished. Italians don't look at it that way. Italians love experience. A guy could be 35 or 36 and they still rate him as a player because he's seen it and done it.

    Who's right?

Maldini played till he was 38 or 39 and he was still great. They just play a different game to us and they're right.

    Forza Italia!!

  6. Fabio Cannavaro, one of the best defenders you'll ever see. A 5ft 8 centre back. He wouldnae get a game in the SPL coz nobody would believe a 5ft 8 guy could be a centre back. Really?!

We have so much to learn.

  7. Watch Italian football. Francesco Totti is 37 or 38 years old and he is still a * genius! One of the best players in Serie A by far. In England if Steven Gerrard is still playing at 37, every * wil be saying he's past it.

Honestly, Italy know far more about football than we do. They have the world cups to prove it.

  8. Celtic bought a 33yo Slovakian..........everyone went........who the * is this guy? 33? He must be past it!

Who was it? Lubo! The most talented guy I've ever seen play for Celtic. Age is no barrier.

  11. Shut up ya Honduran bawbag! :bbpd:

  12. I am Italian, but from Lombardia, far from old Rome, but have lived there for some 2 awesome years, and I can tell you, it's much more than you can imagine in some ways, like, you may be living there for a life that even so you will not know everything there. But it have some digressions, the crisis is easily percepted there. But anyway it is fantastic, always was a Roma fan, even my family being Interista and I sometimes supporting then, but living there made me feel a part of it, it's astonishing in many ways. Go there when you have the chance.

How the * does a Physio dislocate his ankle? :56:

  15. Italians are very cynical:50:

  16. Steven Gerrard is a waste of space.

  17. personally i think engerland will still go through....but will then again be * and write of the winners of columbias group, and be talking about last 8.....columbia could put them out,if not brazil will.....

  18. Wouldn't be surprised if Costa Rica made it out the group, a very tidy outfit- showed that yesterday. As for Engerland, well I hope the pilot kept the plane running! Italy will top the group, Uruguay to flop and not make it out the group.

  19. For England to solely focus on Uruguay as must win is a mistake. Costa Rica aren't there to make up the numbers. They looked fearless going forward and England's left side was posted missing all night. Let's not forget that England struggled against Honduras. Group D is wide open. I honestly think England could fail to get 3 points in this group.
