Copy and pasted... here are the results of the World Cup opening game since 1974.

    1974 - Brazil 0 - 0 Yugoslavia
    1978 - West Germany 0 - 0 Poland
    1982 - Argentina 0 - 1 Belgium
    1986 - Italy 1 - 1 Bulgaria
    1990 - Argentina 0 - 1 Cameroon
    1994 - Germany 1 - 0 Bolivia
    1998 - Brazil 2 - 1 Scotland
    2002 - France 0 - 1 Senegal
    2006 - Germany 4 - 2 Costa Rica
    2010 - Mexico 1 - 1 South Africa

Plenty of upsets in there. Still fancy Brazil but if Croatia play to there full potential it could be a very tough they have some quality players in Mandzukic, Eduardo, Modric and Rakitic.

Croatia will be missing Mandzukic for the first game which is unfortunate. As long as they don't play Jellyfish though, they'll probably be fine.

Fancy a draw in that game with Modric and Rakitic to run the show.

I don't rate Neymar but he does seem to play a little better on the international stage.

Mexico I think have progressed from the group stages for 5 tournaments in a row so it will probably be tight for 2nd place. Fancy the Croatians though.

Brazil should win all three games and I think Mexico will finish in second ahead of Croatia.

Brazil will take full points you would think followed by Croatia if they can adapt to the temperatures.

Don't be so sure, after all this is WC and their players always give 100% for the shirt.
I think they will end second in this group.

Croatia have 2 players in sublime form; Rakitic and Modric. Wouldn't surprise me if they did finish 2nd but for me Mexico are the favourites, especially if as expected Brazil and Mexico both win their first games.

brazil are a very so so team. not very good. Even after they played us they came out and said they have a lot of work to do if they want to get out of the group stages.

maybe cameroon and Mexico could pull off a few surprises.

croatia is a bit better than brazil, just.

they will probably beat brazil and mexico could beat them as well.

Don't think Brazil will win the tournament, but they should come out if this group in first place. Croatia and Cameroon to battle it for second, Mexico seem a very average side nowadays, and went through four managers in the space of six months very recently.

Croatia has a habit of playing very well against the big teams, and then flopping against the less glamorous teams. So, we'll draw against Brazil, but then struggle heavily in the other 2 games. Our defenders are capable of doing well in a deep back line, but pushing up, as is expected against CMR/MEX will be dangerous.
