Would the number two at a big club with big European nights not be better than number one at a club that hasn't seen any success in the life time of players . From what I can see Celtic are going to move to a new level if Deilia has the right back room staff working with him. No matter how successful our new manager is he will move on , if he is as successful as I think he will he will go to a top club in a strong league . Jackie can go with him or take over here at Celtic . Jackie can not be sure of upward improving at DU . He may have peaked. To compare Lennon returning as number 2 to Lennon coming back is simply ridiculous . Tommy Burns may have returned but when he did it was head of the new youth academie . The talk of John Collins sickens me as all he is doing for years seems to be football punditry , I think he certainly isn't suitable . Jackie would be the best and he would need much persuasion but I think they would make a good team .

Ex Celt norweigan or scandinavian would be ideal. Can't think of any Norweigans apart from Riseth but he hasn't been coaching after retiring. So I would go for Weighorst or Larsson.

He'd need one, as like you say about him and Collins for example. It is the same with him and Stokes, Griffiths, Mulgrew, Brown, Forrest, Pukki, Ambrose etc he probably doesnt know about 90% of our players and will know little to nothing about any of the other teams in Scotland, how they play or their players.

So he'd need someone who could fill him in and probably have discussions with to learn quicker about the players and other teams we'll play.

Never rated Peter Houston but I'd love to see Martin Weighorst, John Kennedy or John Collins given the role.

Like like to think, john park, john Kennedy, Danny mcgrain etc will be there for that sort of support. But hos assistant, someone he already knows. May not be his former assistant from Norway, but maybe an ex team mate who may know Scottish football better?

Or maybe he will bring finnbogasson in as assistant. He knows Celtic apparently.

Plenty of video's for him to watch if he is wondering how teams play against us.
No need for someone scottish the guy is not daft and will work it out just fine.

Not for me. And not for anyone with the ambition of being a manager rather than an assistant.

Might be a backwards step but Murdo McLeod could still do us a turn, but Collins will probably get it, maybe both, McGrains health will be a concern now and it will take him time to get over his heart scare

Rogne? I'm sure he's not up to much at Wigan and is probably a bit bored on the injury table :56:

Seriously though, I'm sure Ronny will want to pick his own backroom staff who he knows, trusts and can get the best out of. This will help him settle in better and get the best out of the team.

Having said that, I think Collins is a decent shout if he is wanting someone with knowlege of the league and club by his side. I also wouldn't mind seeing Danny Lennon given a role. Fantastic coach... still don't understand why St. Mirren got rid of him.

To be honest though I'll be happy as long as Woods and McGrain are kept on.

If Collins was a decent shout , surely he would be involved with some team now rather than pus saying around as a part time pundit . Any Scottish person in full time employment at coaching would be better than Collins . Jackie Mac would be the best , if Celtic buy a couple of Dundee UTD 's best youngsters and another couple go to England then Jackie could be fighting relegation and in danger of losing his job . Utd are in no position to turn down any reasonable bid and who knows how any replacement performs . If we want the best we go for the best , not a * TV pundit .

As long as we keep Park, Woods and McGrain he should be fine with whoever he brings in.

He's working with one of the younger Scotland squads I'm sure.

If you think Jackie would leave Utd to be number 2 here then you need your head checked.

I'd imagine John Kennedy will get promoted.

Or Peter Houston given the job - conspiracy theorists will say he's been here for about a year in preparation for this. Both are cheap options but I wouldn't have any problem with them.

Deila needs someone he can work with and would help if they were already friends or at least colleagues, but at the same time if someone else comes in who knows everything about the club it will help RD massively.
