England v Brazil 2002. If memory serves me correct it was a early morning kick off here and we watched some of it in school before it started

France 98 scotland brazil, remember going out in to my estate cheering at half time when collins equalised from the spot and winding my pals up..
Scotland norway i was away with my school out in the forest in those dorms? For 3 days and kept naggong my teacher to get to watch the game, he said to choose a half, so i obviously said second.. Funny thing was that only i got to watch the second half with one teacher but i can't even remember the game now, apart from burley scoring and us drawing 1 each..

    Remember euro 96 well also..

A vague memory from 94 Final, that infamous Baggio's penalty shot.

Argentina 78'' even as a kid remember the hype and thinking they are are going to fall on their arses, sure enough they did a pretty good job of that. A very good squad but they just did not play, and the manager was out of his depth.

Didn't help when that wee bluenose * Willie Johnston got sent home from Argentina for drugs. One of the matches he was escorted off the field at gunpoint.
Little thug stamped on Aberdeen player McMasters head when playing for deadco and also headbutted Davie Provan against us.

Although i do like this article

His final appearance in front of an SFA disciplinary board was, ironically, nothing to do with a red card. Portions of a book Johnston had put out, relating to the Provan incident, had been published in a national newspaper and the SFA mandarins were not happy. Johnston was summoned to state his case and did so — but to no avail. He was fined £200. "You'll all be going to lunch now?" asked Johnston of the panel. "Yes," replied SFA suit Ernie Walker. "Then the wine's on me, you arseholes." Johnston walked out of the room, for once up on the deal — the newspaper serialisation had made him £1,000.

Like the OP I was too young for 74 but I loved every minute of 78. Kempes, Ardilles, Cruyff and the great Dutch team.

I remember all the hype and people thinking we could actually win it too. When you look at the players we had back then though, it was * mouth watering by todays standards.

Beating Holland so comprehensively showed that we could have been a decent team and that game will live long in the memory.

Aye how could i forget what a fiasco that was what a numpty.
People forget ''Dads Army'' Peru were totally underestimated and South American Champions at the time, and Cubillas pulling the strings in midfield was at his peak. So what was McLeods technical stratogem to deal with this threat? - ''Watch the Black guy'':smiley-laughing002: I think with a good coach they would have made it out of the first round, and made a decent fist of it in the Second.

Also remember the defeat to Spain on penalties :54: Korea beating Italy and Brazil winning it.
