People say they don't want Hooper back but would it be the worst thing to happen.

Some of the last few strikers we've bought haven't cut it and we've wasted money on them. The verdict is still out on Ciftci, he may or may not be a very good player for us.

At least with Hooper you know what your getting and yes he may cost around 4m but for me it's a signing with a very low risk.

Instead of sending 2.5m, 3m or even 4m on another striker whose isn't going to cut it.

So, let me get this straight. There are people in this thread who don't want us to sign a guy who was a proven goalscorer with us as he's not currently operating at a level that's close to European standards, yet signing a guy from the 2nd tier of Scottish football is seen as a move forward?

Apparently, Hooper is available for loan and we're strongly being linked with a loan move for him.

We should be completing the sale of Tim Ream to Fulham tomorrow for just under £2 million and this could help us clinch a deal for Hooper.

The only snag is, Norwich want all of his wages paid and Hooper is on 30+ per week, Ouch!

You really need to get over it. I haven't seen one person apart from doctor obsessed claim that Allan was move forward. Most people accept that is a squad signing that may or may not work out.

But I suppose, Allan and Hooper do have one thing in common in that they've both failed to make the grade at EPL clubs

A loan would be good. Less risk if he doesn't turn out to be the same player that left, or if he doesn't fit in our system. I think signing him would just make Griffiths step up his game even more though to keep the main striker spot - That's the kinda player he is.

See he didn't get off the bench again yesterday. Not surprised he's went right down hill the last few times I've seen him.

Love Hooper he was great for us but he's an EPL failure, he'll probably be back down in the championship soon enough. His level am afraid.

    This.
People waxing lyrical about Hooper' former qualities are living in the past.
And to suggest that Hooper in his present shape and fitness is better than livewire Leigh Griffiths is quite frankly ludicrous.

He wouldn't be in his present shape and fitness within a month of getting starts though, would he?

He's infinitely a better striker than anyone we have at the club right now. That's blatantly obvious.

All I have to say is Rickie Lambert and Emile Heskey. It's never over.

He went missing in countless games as well used to annoy the life out me. Good luck to him but let's hope he never returns for the good of the club.

    We've got the Thumb:50:

The current Hooper wouldn't get a game with us either. Alex Neil is not daft, Hooper is arguably finished.

Hooper would be sat on our bench along with Scepovic getting splinters in his * all season long :icon_mrgreen:

Heskey was better than he was giving credit for. Lambert was superb in the EPL for Southampton. Hooper struggled in the EPL.

Baffles me that people think Griffiths is better than Hooper. He's nowhere near his level.

We'll see if Hooper can at least get a game for Norwich and see how his season goes compared to Griffiths season then we'll talk:86:
