Some people booed when he came on- thought that was unacceptable.

That was bang out of * order. I don't know if it was more the decision to bring him on instead of Friðjónsson or someone that would be here next season but it was a disgusting way to treat a Celtic player after all he's given the club.

I think he was serious, if you've not seen Samaras warming up in all his glory then you probably don't understand. That guy descirved it well, full-tracksuit, joggies tucked into socks, gloves, tammy and knee length thermal coat that looks a size too big.

He proceeds to jog about like a zombie 80 year old cutting about the house in their slippers, stretches for 20 seconds, then stands watching the game, before walking back into the dugout.

I mentioned a few weeks ago when he came out people were shouting stuff at him taking the * at all the gear he had on and a guy with one of those big hats russians wear with the ear flap things shouted "here sammy want me to swap you, my ones much warmer" or something, Sammy must have heard him as on his way back into the dugout he took off his tammy and threw it into the crowd for the guy :56:

He is a sight to behold when he comes out to warm up, he looks more prepared to step off a boat onto Antarctica than to excercise before playing a sport.

I think the booing was out of order, although I was extremely annoyed that he was being brought on, there was no need for him to be booed whatsoever.

Personally, I was disappointed he was brougt on for a couple of reasons, one of them was that I would have liked to see Fridjonsson getting some game time, and the other reason, is the fact that he probably isn't going to be here next season. We are already looking towards next season in my opinion, so surely, it should only be players who are still going to be under contract next year that play.

If Samaras not playing is going to perhaps hinder his World Cup selection, unfortunately, that is not our problem. He had a chance to sign a contract extension in January, and opted not to. We have plenty guys itching to play, and hopefully force their way into the team, these guys should be on the park before him, it's as simple as that for me.

Sign a contact ya big * whipped *. I've stood up for this guy on countless occasions but the fact that he thinks he can do better than Celtic is ridiculous. In the Mowbray season he was playing up front and scored something like 2 goals the whole season. Which for a centre forward at any other club would have meant curtains. But I've stood up for the guy and he did turn the corner playing on the wing. But he's being an idiot thinking that he can do better than us. He should be biting our hand off for a new contract. I mean first team, Champions League football for a guy that only tries probably every 1 in 4 games and he's turning that opportunity down.

I hope he gets a good send off here and the fans that were booing catch themselves on. He has been a great servant to the club, gave no trouble and been at the centre of much of our success. If he leaves he will be missed greatly.

To criticise someone for what they are wearing is laughable. He came on, played well and set up a goal. That is what matters.

It would be best for everyone involved if he left. We became too reliant on him in Europe and he's stagnated and needs a new challenge.

The view of forwards on these boards is astounding. Every forward goes through stretches of good and poor form. Only the truly world class players bang them in year round, and those guys are way out of our price range. Samaras has been a loyal servant of the club and a great asset to our European campaigns. Should he stay? Dunno. But the stick he receives is truly bizarre to me.

It's amazing how quickly people turn. He was the supporters' player of the year last season.

Booing is poor,I didn't notice it at the time but I was equally * off at the decision,my view on the sammy the player aside we should be playing guys who are here for the long haul not guys patting each other on the back helping certain causes that don't help the club..ie sammy going to the world cup, which I'm sure if he never kicked another ball for us he'd still be first on that flight..

I'm sure the booing would have been more for what my anger was, wanting to see guys who need game time and will be here next season like balde..

Why the questioning of us who see his time is up and want him out? Aw but he's been loyal and has been a great player..loyal players bust a gut everytime they step on the pitch, sammy is not in broonys league there I'm afraid..
He's been great at times, but nowhere near it,especially for most of this season so it's harldy a surprise or knee * reaction that us/i am sick of the no shows, can't be *,pathetic perfomances he has put on this year and you don't want to sign a new deal with us then thankyou for your services and some great memories, goodbye!

Balde was on the bench so he must have been fit enough to play surely.

I'm not disputing he played well when he came on,he actually tried for the first time in ages since he's got off the bench but my only dispute is he's off and shouldn't be getting game time with the world cup looming...if that was the case,at worst he should have been loaned out to get game time till his contract ran down..

As I say, poor booing him if indeed it was for other than wanting to see others brought on who are staying and want to be here..
