Stevie Clark would be excellent. I think their was the underlined doubt from the start the lennon was to inexperienced for such a large job

I genuinely can't believe people are defending Lennon still.

Well done Aberdeen, they desrved to win. Good tactics and team selection from them. They controlled the midfield and stopped our full backs going forward, obviuosly done their homework. As for us, Lenny has to shoulder the blame. poor tactics and player selction, he was a bit nieve thinking Aberdeen would come and sit in. I said at half time it would have too change but he didnt. When it comes to cup ties players never reallyinfluence a game when they come on later. The problem we have now is keeping the players motivated, we will win the league but will lose a few gamwes now. Another aspect of this defeat will see the crowds get smaller for home games.

Owen Coyle, Roy Keane or Mick McCarthy are the names I have seen linked with us out of that bunch I would take Roy Keane, Mackay is destined for a PL job he wouldn't come here

That was garbage. Aberdeen were the better team and fully deserved their win. Neil Lennon's record in the cup competitions is not good enough and it is something he needs to put a lot of thought into over the summer so this doesn't happen again next season.

It's hard to call any season where you win the league a failure but the fact is our season is over in early February, so it does feel like a failure. I'm pretty disgusted with how we played today to be honest.

Which came first - the chicken or the egg?

The poor performance was executed by the playerst, but it was borne out of a bizarre selection by the Manager.

    Lenny's fault for me today!

Lennon is making the same mistakes over and over again. I think it's time for him to go, I think he's done all he can, this is just the final straw for me.

I have been saying all year long that we are a team in decline. This isn't a reaction to the result today because for some reason I do not really feel all that moved about the result. I feel disappointed by more because the typifies how I feel about celtic over the last season, not just because of a poor result. I feel our decline is very much hidden because we play in such a * poor league.

Today was the biggest domestic game of our season and yet celtic park was half empty, the atmosphere was flat, and we lost another chance to win a trophy. Why? Well because people like me who for years didn't miss a game can no longer be arsed with it. Because we continue to sell our top talent and replace them on the cheap so there is nothing for fans to get excited about. And because Aberdeen wanted to win more than we did. I don't really feel all that emotional about the result because to be honest I think win or lose we are a team going backwards.

So now the league is done and we have to wait until August before we get a single game to get excited about. By which point we may or may not still have our two real quality players in Forster and VanDijk. And we can all cheer on trying to scrape into the champions league.

I have never felt so utterly underwhelmed as a celtic fan, and I sense I am not alone, not because of the result today, but because I no longer feel any sense of progress or any real point to what we are doing at the moment.

Thought I was the only one who noticed that. Surprised he's getting so much praise. Early days though for him.

If Roy Keane was the next Celtic manager I'd support Fort William till he left.

So you think starting Forrest, Samaras and Matthews was a good idea? Look I know we have the better 11 players and they should win anyway, but that's * from Lennon.

For all the "Lennon must go" folk, who would replace him?

I know the forum has polarising opinions on Lennon. Some folk would carry him him on their shoulders and procalim him to the heavens, others would happily drive him out of Celtic Park. Personally, I think he has limitations and sometimes lacks tactical nous, but I can't see who who would replace him and make us any better. We have financial limitations, that rules out EPL managers like MacKay, he is going to want to prove himself in a better league. We can only attract a certain level.
