After all the patience we have shown Sammy if he does go he'll not get that again with any other club, whereas Joe Ledley in my eyes he'll be a bigger miss, but ffs Crystal Palace i guess he's missing the championship.

That is certainly one option , but things are not always strictly black or white . L
If manager still hoped that player may change their minds, or if the
manager wanted to field his strongest team , then he may have to play
those who have yet to agree contract . Agents may take into account
perceived bad treatment of previous players when club is trying to sign
    new players .

Giorgios Samaras is the subject of a deadline day move from Ligue 1 side Marseille. Le10 claim on Friday afternoon that the striker is being eyed by the French club as option to strengthen their squad for the rest of the season.

Transfer speculation has surrounded Samaras for some time and just this week Neil Lennon had to say the player was in the right frame of mind despite reports, quoted by the Daily Record he said "I’m happy with his frame of mind.

“We’ve been talking to his representatives and he’s in a good place so I will have no hesitation in playing him. I don’t know if he’ll be here next week, though, is the honest answer. I really don’t know.”

Samaras has a contract which lasts until the end of the current season and Celtic face the prospect of losing him for free in the summer, he could sign a pre contract agreement now with a club of his choice.. Marseille would like to get a deal concluded but Le10 say they are aware it will prove difficult given the lack of time left in the window.

Marseille are also linked with a move for Jérémie Aliadière, but QPR are interested in him too.

if both remain at Celtic without signing a new contract i hope they will not be regular picks by Lenny ....... we need to have new players gel and be ready for the early rounds of CL qualification..

nothing against either player ... but if their long term future is not at the club then we have a duty to look after players who will be here next year.

2.5 Million offer accepted for ledley there on SSN well that will balance the books for steff and thumb, window closed and the 6 million lennon claimed we had available for the right striker vanishes into thin air

Fee accepted was £2.5M according to Sky.

For a player available on a pre-contract, on hefty wage packet and on the face of it refusing to sign a new contract that's a pretty good bit of business. Selling is the right decision.

Hearing Ambrose might be on his way as well...Hope to Christ we've a replacement lined up.

If £2.5m is correct then that's a fair enough fee considering the circumstances. I'd still of much rather he'd stayed though but it looks like he's off ski unfortunately. Hopefully johanssen can step up and fill the void.

£2.5million is a great bit of business from Celtic. But I'd still rather Ledley stayed.

Yeah, not bad for a player a few hours from allowing to be let go for free later on down the road.
