What if either do you prefer? I just got my pipes and for me it's tribal without a doubt.

Neither. i had a bad experience with bag pipes in my younger years -

Seeing a bird from dullatar (Cumbernauld area), was seeing her for about 2 weeks when we we're in her bedroom one night she said turn around i have a surprise for you...so i turn around thinking yee-ha nat king cole time. In the meantime i can hear her moving about behind me i think shes getting her kit off so i start to get undressed thinking happy days.

imagine the look on my face when she says you can turn around now. * out full attention stance only for her to start playing the bagpipes at full pelt (did i mention her bedroom was the box room in the house?) Well needless to say i was "* shockingly surprised" lost the woody and am still part deaf in one ear i kid you not.

    True story.

The 'lazy * Uillean pipes' :50:

Not coz am a Scot but I prefer the presence of Scottish pipes more. And they sound a lot better.
