    Personally I think it's very simple. We MUST win tomorrow night. If we do so, as long as Ajax don't beat Barcelona then we will guarantee Europa League participation no matter what.

    But the ideal scenario is us winning coupled with a draw in Amsterdam. Because no matter how much of a fringe team Barcelona put out against us and their list of injuries, psychologically avoiding a defeat in the Camp Nou will be extremely difficult. Therefore, at least there would still be an opportunity of us qualifying for the Last 16 despite losing. And we would become the first team to ever qualify for the Last 16 with just 6 points. What also helps in that scenario is that AC Milan and Ajax would both realise that whichever team wins, would qualify for the Last 16 unless we somehow won in the Camp Nou. Considering they drew against each other in Amsterdam on Matchday 2, are very similar in terms of quality, the San Siro not being a fortress for AC Milan and with both teams desperate to win - they could very easily cancel each other out.

    But all of the above only matters if we take 3 points tomorrow night. Anything less and we're *. I for one cannot wait :50:

    More than capable of beating a reserve XI Barca in the last game.

    Barca will win there last 2 games. We beat Milan 3nil and then ajax milan draw in gameweek 6 and we go through to the last 16 because of the head to head with Milan. Simple. :icon_mrgreen::50::celt_2:

    No, we don't. That's the whole point of the article in the OP and why we should hope that Ajax do draw vs Barcelona and nothing more.

    If they draw and we win we still guarantee third place and then we have a possibility at finishing second on 6 points due to the tie breaker format when three teams all have the same number of points. Of course, that would require a draw between Milan and Ajax in the final game. The games against Barcelona would be removed and the table would be as follows.

    Celtic - 6 points gained (Win vs Ajax, Win vs Milan)
    Ajax - 5 points gained (Win Vs Celtic, 2 draws vs Milan)
    Milan - 5 points gained (Win vs Celtic, 2 draws vs Ajax)

    In that scenario we go through, as unlikely as that is. Only if all three teams finish on 6 points. We have to win tomorrow though, and that's all I'm really thinking about right now.

    It is based on Ajax and Barca drawing leaving all 3 teams on 6 points should we be beaten in the Nou Camp coupled with a draw in the San Siro. Our goal difference over the two Milan games would no longer matter.

    Think the Milan Ajax game is a stick on draw btw with them both probably needing to win. The 3 way tie scenario would be * epic.
