People down here in The Netherlands get sentenced to do community service for much worse accusations. But ofcourse....these are "football hooligans"!

Now you see that just like in Scotland, football supporters are being looked down on. :31:

Judge siding with police add to the fact it's against supporters and added even more that it's foreign fans is anyone surprised how this is going cause I'm not..

Said all along it would be a stitch up and big cover up..

That's not really true. It's no different with Dutch supporters.

Btw. we clearly all forgot already what's been going on between The Green Brigade and the Scottish authorities. It's the same everywhere, not just here mate.

Of course football fans in general get a raw deal for the most parts by police and sentences in the courtroom reflect that..
What I'm saying is yes you're right it's the same everywhere harshness with supporters in the courtroom but for me even more so with away foreign fans..

I can see why you might get a bit defensive when people keep saying the treatment is different because they are foreign fans Vinny. I don't know how Dutch fans are generally treated domestically but you are not the first on here to make this point so I am not disputing anything you have said about how Dutch fans are treated by Dutch police.

I do find it odd though that there seems to a cutural difference in so much as everyone from the Ajax hooligans to the dutch police has at some point said what did you expect coming over here and getting pished. No-one seems to have appreciated Celtic fans can go abroard and get pished but that doesn't necessairly mean there has to be trouble.

Finally this has nothing to do with the Green Brigade and the Police in Scotland. The scenario's are completley different.

This is a farce. From the prosecution stating that witnesses shouldn't be questioned despite wanting 2 months prison sentences for all the accused; to the inconsistencies in the police reports etc. It's shocking.

It does have something to do with it. Wrongly accused football fans. You got to remember that the Celtic 6 are on trial here and not the scummy cops. It's that simple.

It annoys me that that it's been going from pointing fingers to the police to ALL Ajax supporters to even the WHOLE Netherlands. I'm embarrassed about the whole * thing, but people shouldnt act like it's a Dutch thing. Look at your and other countries too.

I agree that in both instances the police act like absolute scum. However I really think the Green Brigade example is not a relevant one. In Scotland Celtic fans are treated differently/persecuted for standing up for their Irish heritage.

It seems to me that in Holland you are saying the police treat all/alot of football fans (Dutch or otherwise) like this. That is the difference.

I can understand your sensitivity about it. I was back on the square on the Thursday. In that big cafe on the corner and the smaller one across the road and I know the problem was the police not all of the Netherlands.

Vinnie you might know being Dutch, can the Judge ask that any witness's be heard? What powers does that court actually have? It seems weird that in any court testimony from witness's has not been asked for.

I emailed Celtic FC the other day with complaints about our experience in Amsterdam. I witnessed a Celtic fan getting beat up by an Ajax steward, while the Celtic fan was on the floor the steward was kicking him, 3 other stewards came out to get him off the Celtic fan while another hit him while he was down.

That country is ran by animals for animals. I wont be going back there ever again.

I'm a bit confused about the trial. As far as I know the judge can decide for witnesses to be heard, but I'm not sure anymore if this is a full on trial tbh. In other words....don't have a clue how this works.

Cannot get more silly. You hold The Netherlands, Ajax and all Dutchmen responsible.
The prosecutor tries to pledge the case from police point of view. It is his job, he just knows what the police gave him as input and he cannot doubt their statements. It is an insane matter in court, because the Judge has to decide whether the police is integer or not. Your Honour: Be Honest!

Celtic, Celtic, Celtic, Celtic!!:celt_2: Could not agree more upon Celtic supporters.
We have to face it daily, so it will be an enormous break-through.
We need it more than you that the police gets a hold.
We would love the peace of fair juridical playfield.
