It depends on our form and our state of mind ( confidence ), we have not been doing too good lately :smiley-laughing002: but that could all change if we hump Barcelona :icon_mrgreen:

I am going to stick my neck out and say 2nd place is realistic.

Agree with that. 3rd is realistic but hopeful still

I remember we drew at home to Benfica last year on the first game and everyone thought it was game over yet we still made it through to the last 16....that draw v Benfica at home is a worse result than a loss to Milan at the San Siro even in the circumstances

That's true. I thought we could have done better at home against Benfica.

Did not expect to be filled with such confidence after losing to Milan 2-0.

It'd be nice if we were still in contention for 2nd on the last matchday, like last year. And it seems a lot more likely that Milan would still be looking to qualify then, than Barcelona. It's a situation they were vulnerable in last year, because Benfica surely should've beat them.

It's sort of a nice catch-all for us: If Milan take six points off Ajax and win at Celtic park, we'll be out of the CL but that would mean we would only need, at most, 4 points to keep going in Europe. If we do well at home and Ajax get a few shockers, we have a chance at qualifying--but are more likely to finish last.

I'm always ridiculously, absurdly, masochistically optimistic about our chances so I don't see any reason why we can't come second.

I'm not usually so pessimistic but I'm worried about Tuesday.

If we can pick up 4 points from the ajax games and beat Milan at Paradise that should be enough for third.

This. We honestly needed a proven goalscorer. I am confident in the Celtic team to create chances but not confident in them finishing them. I'm raging as I believe if we had managed to get proper goal scorer it would of taken our team that step further and I think we could of beaten Milan.

We've bought a guy who has scored two in three starts.

    That's cause for optimism.

Was it though. Milan were missing quite a few players and went into the game doing * in the league. They were there for the taking. I'm worried for when Milan come to CP and they have some of their players back.

It's a good start and not what I expected but not to take away from Pukki as he looks a great player but I still don't believe he will replace Hooper.

Do you have any reason for feeling like that?

He came from a much better league than Hooper, that's a good start as far as I'm concerned.

Yes it would have been nice to beat Milan, but that game isn't the only one which would dictate if we finish 2nd....We lost to Benfica away and still qualified mind

We need to take at least a point on Tuesday and hope Barca win all their games against the other two if we have designs on second, imo.

I am hoping we get third place which realistically is what we are fighting for. Anything else would blow last years great efforts out of the water.

Id be disappointed if we didn't take at least 4 points of Ajax and if we can beat Milan then it throws the group wide open...The games v Ajax are SO important, they will shape our season
