Stokes, Pukki or Both

We can't play both unless we have to play Pukki wide right due to injuries.

 

It'll be interesting to see who Lennon goes with.

I'd give the nod to Stokesy.

 

I think Pukki will start ahead of Stokes... just a gut feeling.

Although Lennon did give huge praise to Tony after the Milan game two weeks ago.

 

For me it has to be Stokes up top with Sammy and Commons just in front of a solid 3 man midfield.

Strongly doubt we'll go 4-4-2 but I'd love to see Samaras and Matthews on the wings, and both Pukki and Stokes up front.

Stokes's form leading up to this match is beyond reproach, he is a must-start and Balde should be nowhere near this team. In a season or two Mulgrew-to-Balde may be our most lethal option in Europe but banking on it now would just be wishful thinking at this point.

 

Balde being in this team instantly makes me think of Ambrose squandering the one good header against Juve last year.

 

Why anyone has voted pukki before stokes is beyond belief.

Stokes deserves it ten times more

 

Pukki. Don't think Stokes will fare well up front on his own. Especially in a game where he'll be as isolated as he will vs Barcelona.

 

Lennon pretty much came out n said he's putting Sammy up front himself n boerrigter is injured. If that's the case, who we gonna play on the left?

This game would actually be more suited to Balde if truth be told. In no way do I think he will start, or merits a start, but he is more suited compared to others. Barcelona's frailties were there for all to see last season, and set pieces or crosses into the box will probably be our biggest threat. Balde has far more of a physical presence than any other striker we have. We will have to go route one most of the night in my opinion, and we will need someone to hold it up well.

 

Stokes for me, this is a massive season for the lad what with Hooper gone.... and going by his displays so far, he's eager to impress, you can see he's determined to be our number one striker. Give the lad the nod Lenny, hunger and determination can be priceless in a game like this

 

Baldé in the last 10/20 minutes is a must.

 

I'm happy with Stokes or Pukki. Stokesy's the most deserving put least suited, in my opinion, Baldé's the least deserving & most suited. :smiley-laughing002:

 

Balde on for Stokes if it's not working. 4-2-3-1 formation, usual suspects in defense, Mulgrew and Brown in central midfield, with Samaras, Commons and Matthews in front.

Stokes will do more work than Balde, Balde can come on second half. Balde might just be coming onto a game at the perfect time for this one.

 

i just hope neil doesnt play sammy upfront on his own. i would try balde and pukki

 

Pukki will destroy Barkas slowly defenders so I hope he will start. Perhaps both.
