Freddy Adu

He is 18 and has been captain of the USA team at the U20 World Cup Finals in Canada. He has been playing down the left and set up the USA's goal with a superb cross against Austria today and has in general been excellent in the tournament. He faded out of todays game (which was a Quarter-Final) after an excellent first half and in the end Austria came back and won in extra time 2-1 but he certainly looked outstanding 1 v 1 out on the left given enough service and showed tremendous pace and strength as well.

As I have said before though he is way over hyped which is a pity as he seems like he will develop into a very good player just not as good as his hype machine. Whether he would make it at Celtic who knows. He has potential but who knows whether he would work out or not. It's very hard to gauge how much he is worth paying for because your paying for potential not a player who has already proven himself at a high level or at full international level.

Given the whole Nike connection though with the player and with Celtic I would not be surprised at all though if we signed him.

Not sure about Freddy Adu, need him to play as a trialist in a couple of matches.

 

Fred Adu is 18, only 18. His marketability will easily make his cost back. He has the potential to be a quality player but yet people think (thats going by some posts) that 5M is a huge risk on him, it isnt.

Considering that we have a history and are geared towards developing young talent, the risk is minimal.

I still think we are in pole position, Theres has been no official story on this from bbc or sky sports. We are due to hold talks and if they go well then i think we can sign him.

 

who are fulham sponcerd by?(<<<serious question, just incase its also nike.) celtic are sponsered by nike, who sponser freddy adu. fullham can offer champions leauge, which NIKE would prefer. also dont forget the people is an english paper so i personaly wouldn't belive a word it prints.

 

also it pays to take note that sunday is the papers most profitable day papers costing 4/5 times more than on week days so they push for sales on that day. i.e. can make stuff up.

its not much of a risk finacially because of his marketability
