    It's funny how his career has gone considerably downhill since he stopped playing for Ireland..... he was so talented when he was 20/21 and he hasn't came close to living up to that.

    The guy still comes over as a * in the comments included there basically saying all he cares about is his club and that if Ireland works out then thats nice but if it doesn't he could care less. * this *. He has basically spat in the faces of all Irish people who actually take pride in their country and supporting the national team as part of that and he has done it more then once. Should never ever put on an Ireland jersey again.

    His comments sound about right to me. He'd be a fool if he didn't think he needed to sort out his club career, first. He's currently not even good to make our squad. He needs time.

    I think if he does get a full season behind him again, MON (or whoever the manager happens to be) will probably recall him. Assuming he hasn't lost his tremendous talent.

    Playing for for your country just does not have the prestige it once had for players like Stephen Ireland who have no real respect for Eire and the national team. He see's it as he is doing Eire a favour not the other way round. He falls out with managers all the time his attitude is awful he is the the Irish version of TOWIE he would definitely fit in Essex with his pink cars and rich chav ways. I hope Ireland stay clear of him.
