So, by that thinking someone who gets more gametime for an inferior club should be valued higher than someone who is one of the top prospects with a bigger side but can't break into their first team?

A strange way of looking at it, but fair enough.

Not at all, I'm looking at this as an isolated case which you have to. Regardless Armstrong is a Scottish international and Gauld is younger and has far greater potential, noted by the fact he's signed for Lisbon whilst Watt is signing for Liege.

He's 20 years old, there is no prospect of him getting a regular game for Celtic and we're being offered over £1 million for someone that cost us a week of Scott Brown's wages. It's a no brainer despite some fans placing him on a pedestal which he doesn't deserve to be on.

Worth adding Billy Stark to the list of managers he's left unimpressed. Believe the quote was "lazy and unfit".

In purely footballing terms it's noted that Griffiths is a hard worker both in training and on the pitch. There's the difference.

Very disappointing to say the least. The guy is a diehard Celtic fan, and should have been given time, he is only twenty after all for gods sake.

You would think we were rich in the striking department, he was the only forward who offered something different in pace and power.

People moaning about the penalty incident need to get a grip, that happens every week in football. You've also got people moaning about his attitude etc, when we've got the likes of Stokes and Griffiths playing with us :56:. I can't remember Tony being involved in anything remotely as bad as the afore mentioned, and don't forgot the allegations involving young Forrest recently.

Did Griffiths grow up supporting Celtic? This thread is about Tony Watt, who threw away his chance to become a Celtic great.

It could be the move that tony needs to waken him up.

could watt essentially reject a contract order?

was just reading watts coments to the media saying he wants to stay at Celtic for the long term and he doesn't think people at the club realize this.

I'm just thinking theoretically what would happen if watt turned down his contract offer in order to stay at Celtic. How would the board react to that? And 1.2 million?!?! Seriously?!? Yes he has an attitude but he's moved back with his parents and his dahh seems to be pushing him to improve and he's really trying based off his twitter posts and comments in the media. He sounds like he knows the problem and is working on it and just the idea of Ronny being the type of guy that can get the best out of him.

I'm gutted I just read on stv that he's off to Belgium to talk contracts.

    what you's think?!?

what happened with balde ? Did he do that? What did the manager do after it? Cuz honestly I think this has lawwell all over it. Ronny probably wants him to stay knowing our board in these situations. I think Ronny bhoy would be quite pleased. Not exactly alot of dosh.

He refused to leave, ended up training with the reserves and kids for about 2 years.

Balde refused to sign for other clubs when celtic had offers for him and ran down his contract...spent most of his time in the stands after that until he left.

£1.2m for a player who has continued attitude problems noticed by 4 different managers? Great business. Think a buy back deal or a sell on percentage would be good to have inserted in the deal as well if we could get it.

Does he actually have an attitude problem or is it just rumours?

For the sake of only £1.2m, maybe a loan deal would have been more suitable. I think people are expecting too much from a 20 year old. Not many players are first team regulars by 20 and hardly any look European class.

I think we might be giving up on him too soon. For Scotland's sake, this could be a good move because he'll get game time and, if he matures, then could help his career.

I think Celtic will regret this
