    They were actually in Tilcara, Argentina training at altitude for the game against Bolivia. All the stuff about being forgotten is true though. The team was meant to play two warm up games there for the Bolivia game but ended up playing six just to earn some much needed money. They were thrown out of their hotel for not paying and used the money they earned from the friendlies to buy food.

    They were up there training for so long as Argentina wanted to host the 1978 World Cup. They had failed to qualify for the last one and needed this one to keep their hosting chances up (Brazil also wanted it). After a 1 x 1 draw against Paraguay they needed to win in Bolivia to keep their chances alive. They won 1 x 0 in La Paz and qualified for the 1974 World Cup. They came down from the mountains weighing a stone less :smiley-laughing002:

    El Equipo Fantasma - Daniel Carnevali, Rubén Glaría, Angel Bargas, Daniel Tagliani, Osvaldo Cortés, Roberto Telch, Rubén Galván, Aldo Poy, Oscar Fornari, Rubén Ayala and Mario Kempes.
