    Celtic chasing Fanni

    Celtic are interested in signing Nice defender Rod Fanni, according to the Frenchman's agent.
    The 25-year-old former Lens star is keen to play in the Champions League and would welcome the chance to try his luck in Scotland.
    Fanni's agent, Dominique Six, told the News of the World: "We have had interest in Rod from Monaco, Celtic, Genoa and St Etienne.
    "Celtic have looked at him many times. He knows about that and would have no problems about going to Celtic."

    Newcastle are hoping to beat Celtic to the signature of highly-rated Nice full-back Rod Fanni, according to the player's agent.
    Fanni has a host of clubs in France tracking him, but has his heart set on a move to England, with the Magpies leading the chase.
    Rennes are leading the chase in France with Monaco and Paris-Saint Germain also interested.
    However, the player's agent Dominique Six says the player has his heart set on a move across the Channel.
    "He wants to move to England," Six told Sky Sports.
    "He is very content in France and has three offers, but he really wants to play in England."
    Six feels Fanni is better placed to succeed in the Premier League than Bakari Sagna - who has just completed a move to Arsenal.
    "Fanni is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in France and he is the quickest.
    "If Sagna moves to England for some 9million euros (£6million), then Fanni for me would be a wonderful bargain."
    When questioned about Newcastle's interest, Six admitted that Sam Alladryce is aware of him.
    "Allardyce knows about him, I am due in England next week and we will be looking to meet with Newcastle," he said.
