    Sack The Board!

I've had enough, the appointment of Strachan is the final straw.

It is a sign of the small-mindedness and lack of ambition of the current board of directors that they would appoint a man who has achieved nothing in the game, other than 1 cup final and relegation, to take over from a great man like Martin O'Neill. Strachan is not fit to lace his boots.

What calibre of players can Strachan attract to the club with his reputation? How can we be expected to PROGRESS (and that's got to be the point) in Europe with a manager who's never done it before? Fuxsake, he hasn't even had that 'hip operation' (hmm) that he resigned two years ago from Soton for. Can the board not see there's a reason why he hasn't been head hunted by any other club?

This stinks, it's less than MON's legacy demands, and it's less than we fans deserve. SACK THE BOARD!

MON didnt achieve much either before he took charge of celtic mate.. Give the guy a chance, taking a team like Southampton to the FA cup final isnt a bad achievment trust me. Also he didnt lead them to relegation, while he was there they were challenging for a UEFA cup place. He left and they got relegated, surely that shows what an impact he made on the team?

Is this true? If so that doesn't sounds bad at all... Still not going to get my hopes up though, but I'll definitely give him a chance

He DID get Coventry relegated for the first time in 34 years. The guy's a nobody. MON won the coca cola cup with Leicester and got them in Europe. The two are not comparable.

lets not slate him before he shows us wat he's made of...i must say i'd prefer Le Guen, Co Adrianese etc. But the board is so scaffy that they don't wanna pay compensation!

Exactly, think theres too many fans at this club who havent even given the guy a chance and their already on his back.. By all means if he turns out * then slate him but until then hes OUR manager and should get OUR backing.

While i reckon that we should give the guy a chance i can see Lard's pointof view as it is a massive gamble as he has No pedigree..it is clearly an attempt by the board to save money..

I will support the new manager and hope he turns out well...but i would think that if there was some money we would and should be getting ina better manager!

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and on the whole the criticsm is that most fans had great confidence and expectations of MON, that unfortunatley is thin on the ground with GS (Remember Liam Brady, Kenny Dalglish and John Barnes). I personally am not exactly filled with hope on this appointment, but like all Tims I live in hope. if he turns out to be successfull I will be the first admit I was wrong. I hope and pray I am.

In order for us to get any other manager we would have to pay compensation out of our modest transfer budget!!! Strachan is our new manager and he deserves our full backing, MON is a one off, the last manager at CP to win as much was Jock Stein!!!!! Still I echo the original point SACK THE BOARD, where is our youth academy, trainning facilities, and what happened to the cash from the last share issue that was supposed to go to MON for squad strengthening? Anyone who was in Seville realises the board's failure to promote Celtic after that final, Liverpool only had about a third of the travelling support in Istanbul that we had in Spain!!!! The site of the stadium more than 3/4 green and white, with banners from all four corners of the globe will live with me forever! "SACK THE BOARD"

Hate to say I told you so...

    * signings, * performance, embarrassment of a boss, worst result in Europe for decades.

Still willing to 'give Gord a chance'?

Nice to see my 2 month sabbatical has changed a lot around here

And what will he do with that time? Learn to manage? It wasn't a case of players gelling tonight - only 3 of the starting lineup were new. Tactically we have been *, and that's down to Strachan. He should know better.
