Celtic fans cant pronounce his name yet, but the supporters have locked Jan VOH in their hearts immediatly. The ex striker of psv made the winning goal on his debut. In Germany Roy Makaay knew a less sucesfull period. makaay is a good friend of VOH and he wants to go to Scotland. He played against celtic in hte CL and he was impressed by the "bhoys".

Acoording to Makaay his agent already spoke with the manager of Celtic, the little *something* Scots international player, Gordon Strachan.

"My agent spoke with a representitive of Celtic, Peter lawell. Ofcourse I know jan for ages, we played together at PSV and he is enthousiastic about Celtic. I had a difficult time and Munchen.. and maybe its time for an new challenge.. We shall see, I have the time"

Not 100% sure if its true but thats what ive heared on another forum

Its utter rubbish when Jan was at PSV , Roy Maakay was at Bayern Munich and maybe even before that Deportivo

Quote is bullshit since Makaay never played at PSV, but I do think he'll sign for us, they would probably know each other from internation duty though.

They enjoyed their time at PSV when Maakay clearly never played there with Jan

Roy Makaay is *, I'd rather stick with Killen & McDonald, than pay stupid money in signing fees & wages for an overrated hasbeen!

Obviously he's highly experianced, but so * - we've got JVoH to look to for that & he's better nowadays!

Makaaaaaaaaay is 33 in the middle of next season. Thats far too old. Most strikers are losing their edge by then (the king of kings being an exception).

Jan and Roy are similar types of players aren't they? It would not make sense to sign an aging target man.

the only link celtic have to makaay is the fact jvoh plays internatinal football with him. thats it. NOTHING MORE than that.
FANS started these roumers , not papers, or agents or clubs.

Rummenigge says that if Klose comes to Bayern, they will release Makaay for free.

We are getting awfully snooty if we can afford to turn our noses up at Roy Makaay.16 goals in the Bundesligia last term in a team that was struggling.
Golden boot winner, has scored goals everywhere he's been. He's not a target man either small enough fella.Outstanding finisher the guy and would score for fun in the SPL.Waaayyyy better than anything we have at the moment Jan excluded

All true. I'd prefer us to go for Frei, who has admitted he would be interested in Celtic, but if that doesn't happen then Makaay could do a great job for at least a couple of seasons in the SPL.

Given his age I don't know that Makaay would be the way to go. I would much prefer us sign Frei. But if it was just a one year deal that might be a good option as certainly MaKaay has another year at the top left in him. I would have been very excited a couple of years ago about signing Roy Makaay but not so much now.

No, they are not similar types of players. Makaay is more like Inzaghi, you don't see him the whole match but after 90 minutes you see his name on the scoresheet.

His manager said today he's either going to Holland, Spain or England. Didn't mention scotland...
