The 2 main sports in the GAA are Football and Hurling, yeah the hurling is something similar to shinty i do believe.

It used to be on Channel 4 for a while GAA Football I always found it a really strange game. I prefer Hurling don't really know much about it apart from some youtube videos but looks much more entertaining than GAA football.

Do they not play an annual game every year between scotland shinty team and Ireland Hurling team?

I have to admit I also have never heard of "GAA" but if this connection is beneficial for both sides then I'm all for it.

    Aye and we`ll always hammer you`s :icon_mrgreen:

Seriously though, great stuff from Celtic and the GAA in getting something like this organised. It will increase our support in Ireland where unfortunately a lot of young * my age aren`t supporting us

I dont see how this will raise awarness or increase our support in Ireland. Everyone already knows everything about Celtic over here, they just choose to support the EPL teams instead.

    Yeah

But Ireland have to pick the what amounts to as a third division selection because Scotland has only 42 Shinty clubs whereas Ireland has more than 2500 GAA clubs

Love watching the GAA, especially the football. Sligeach all the way, although I'm partial to Tir Eoghain as well.

Lenny used to be really good at it when he was younger. I think he played as a striker. Would love to attend an All Ireland Final some day. I think it's a great link up and I'm glad it's predominantly in the name of charity, that's the Celtic way!
