"The lad we were talking about, Wanyama was it? Earlier we were saying about how much he is worth, oh my * he is worth £20m, he was absolutely outstanding I'm not exaggerating. It was scary, absolutely scary. When you look at him like that holding midfield role, I'm surprised Chelsea didn't bother going for him. If he plays like that every week, no disrespect to Southampton then he'll be going somewhere like Champions League, it was scary, absolutely outstanding."

Paul Merson on Victor Wanyama after Victor had played his first English Premier League game against West Brom.

There literally is no in-between with the media people down south, it's an exaggeration to either extreme with them.

Wanyama's passing is poor. It didn't take a football expert to see that when he was here in my opinion. Fortunately, that is an aspect of the game that can be worked at, however, I haven't seen an improvement this season. They might well have been good defensively when he has played, but I still think Boruc played the biggest part of all of that. Especially earlier in the season where he was keeping them in games.

Aye we reply did get a good deal for Wanyama. Despite playing different positions I think van dijk is by far the better footballer of the 2, and I'd like to think he'll go for more than Vic did. That's not having a go at Wanyama who was terrific for us, especially in the champions league.

Kompany sent off after 10 mins, pulling down jelavic

I don't get why City started with 1 man up top against Hull to start with

I see they've just scored but City will drop a couple of points today I reckon.

Still think they'll win it though, can see them and Chelsea having a good few slip ups before the end of the season, as will Liverpool and Arsenal no doubt.

Arsenal and Liverpool will slip I think. They don't have big enough squads so one injury to a first teamer could really * them over.

Man City have coped well down to 10, probably quite lucky to have scored soon after though but they've looked comfortable since.

Thought the red card was quite harsh since Jelavic did foul him first, so should have been a freekick to Kompany.

Aye just seen the sending off there, Jellyfish definitely fouled Kompany first.

7 games but I think the first 4 are a complete stadium ban and the final 3 just a touchline ban.

(And he's no allowed to nut anyone for 12 games)
