    I'm not picky.
I can maybe understand losing the passion for football gradually over the years for one reason or another as a whole, but the way you describe it all it's like Scottish football was great when they were alive but now they are dead it's boring. As if you following Scottish football was all based around that lot. To me that just feeds their delusions about how "missed" they are as well.

I think it's kind of sad, really, if it's a case of you not enjoying Scottish football just because Hun FC aren't around anymore.

Well, they can't come back for one thing because they are dead so you'll be waiting a long, long time for them to "come back".

I can maybe understand the feeling of missing the actual rivalry itself i.e. the feeling of battering them on the pitch and getting a result, but actually basing things around them and thinking it's all boring now just because ONE team is dead is, like I say, very strange. For me that would be like a Man U or Liverpool fan lamenting the death of the other and missing them not enjoying their football as much just because one of them died.

Scottish football is about Celtic for me and not just one dead club. Looking forward to a new season, how well we'll do in that season's title race; how we'll we'll do in the Cups; how well we'll do in Europe; new players coming in and players leaving; who'll manage to mount any challenges.

I live in the States now and I'm almost 41 and while I don't have that same exuberance I did towards football as a whole when I was living in Scotland and I was, say, 21, I still do all I can to watch Celtic 1st and foremost, and follow Scottish football.

As I have got older Celtic has become even more important as it keeps me in touch with the mates, and going to the games with the son is like handing over the baton. Its also a good excuse to let of steam after the week dealing with mundane * like work, money, family etc....So don't get this losing interest thing.

When the wife married me she knew Celtic was the third thing in the relationship, Celtic is ma Camilla.

    Do I miss them?

I miss the feeling of playing them and all the excitement it brought.

What I don't miss is their rancid bile, hearing songs about child abuse, lads bursting each other up and the hatred they have for me and my ilk.

The nearer this game has got, I realised I am not as excited about it anymore.

No you're the one just talking *. What a bitter wee bubble you must live in. And questioning his vote in the referendum as well lol.

They're not all animals deep down. You know it. I know it. You actually sound like one of the bigotmedia scumbags.

There's reasons throughout the thread. Haven't seen anyone say they miss the actual club, though.

Only thing i can agree with there is old firm day. But we'll get them now and again ie 1st february, so I don't mind. And to be honest, i could go another 3 years without playing them no problem.

The rest doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm happy with supporting Celtic, and not giving a * for how or who that lot are playing.

They sound just like you. Which is usually the case when two groups hate each other.

Judging by our attendances of late I'd say that a lot of our support are getting fed up with the domestic scene as it is. We really don't have any competition (unless you count this season, with us being * enough for other teams to catch up a little), and going along to a game that isn't cheap to watch us play against sides who simply shouldn't be able to compete with a club like us gets old after a while unfortunately.

The fact we see full houses for a lot of our games in Europe, where we're actually playing sides that can compete with us tells the story really.

I find that really sad. People don't want to watch us because we're winning all the time.

The fact some people need Rangers to enjoy going to Celtic games really is sad in my eyes. And it's just not something I understand.

There's a good few SPL sides that have managed to compete with us over 90 mins this season n all.

Don't see why your so surprised yourself. You were just in the other thread posting about how you can't wait to play Sevco on Sunday for the atmosphere:smiley-laughing002:

Maybe that's what all the yes voters are missing just like you?

Were you brought up in London?

You do understand the amount of Rangers fans that live in Scotland... We all have friends who are Rangers fans. Otherwise, we wouldn't speak to half the population.

I have plenty of Rangers fans who are my friends, and they are sound guys.... However like i said, on their day they are scumbags. The songs they sing, their beliefs, their political stance is just unacceptable.

But they don't bring that into any of our conversations. They know how i feel on it, and they know not to.
